Tell me your thoughts on a couple lowers

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and suggestions. Now I've got to figure out the rest of the "furniture" for the build. With all the choices out there, it sure makes narrowing things down a bit harder. I know if/when I have more questions, I can count on your suggestions.

Tell me your thoughts on a couple lowers

...this will be built out over time. Hopefully black-Friday and cyber-Monday will produce some good buys for this build.

Tell me your thoughts on a couple lowers

I understand about not being an AR guy. I've used them, and they're fun, but I haven't really felt a big need to own one. I had a deal come up on these lowers, and thought if I'm ever going to do one...I should probably jump on it. We'll see how it turns out.

Tell me your thoughts on a couple lowers

No way would I pay $200 either. I think the cheapest I found online was around $160 for the M5, and I wish it was $109 shipped! The M4e1 is right around there. Thanks for the reply

Tell me your thoughts on a couple lowers

I have yet to build an AR, so I'm looking for opinions on a couple lowers I'm looking at getting. They are the Aero precision m5 and the Aero precision m4e1. The only reason I'm looking at these 2 particular lowers is I have been offered a decent deal for them. The m4e1 will probably be my...

    Hunting in Hawaii

Pig or goat would be his preferred critters. I don't think he took a rifle with him. as an outfitter told him he could rent a rifle for $50 while he was there, and it would cost him $80 to take his with him. He did indicate that they would be driving a jeep of some sort while there.

    Hunting in Hawaii

I know there are a few members on here from Hawaii. I have a buddy who is going to Hawaii tomorrow (3/30) and was hoping to do some hunting while he was there. After talking to a few people there he’s gotten a little discouraged. He was told that the locals could be a little territorial and...

    Open carry buffoonery

Haha... Until you walk outside and the air temp is -28 and -50 with wind-chill (had that just about a week ago). But you're probably more sensible, and don't live somewhere it gets so blasted cold

    Open carry buffoonery

That's kinda harsh, and ignorant, to say about someone you don't know! I didn't read anything in your post that equates to buffoonery. You don't know what you don't know. How about next time you see someone open carrying you try to take it and see what happens (I really wouldn't recommend that)...

    Serial number fell off.

Your dealer should be able to help you out. When they received the firearm, they enter it in their gun book. When they sold the firearm, they should have disposed of it in the same log book. I would think it wouldn't take much effort to look that up, and provide the manufacturer with that...

    Why I'm not a hunter

This reminded me of the first time I went after antelope a couple years ago. We spent 4 hours or more stalking a herd of antelope. When we first spotted them, they were on a ridge across the valley from us (at least a mile and a half away). It was nerve racking at times because we didn't know...

    Why I'm not a hunter

There's no time like the present to start. I grew up around firearms, target shooting not hunting. My wife's family hunts. I was usually busy when they went, but one year they invited me. I borrowed my father in laws 30.06, and proceeded to go on many deer walks :D. I didn't mind if we didn't...

    New S&W Shield Models

I was in Scheels today, and they had a couple in stock. After fondling one... I'm in love. I've been considering a couple different options for a new CC piece, but not any more. The biggest factor is I don't have to spend another $50-$100 on a new holster. Now to locate one without the safety.

Carry permits as a revenue stream?

Just passed at the end of 2020, it'll now cost you $35 to change your callsign, renew, and to "process" tech, general and or extra license. Guess they figured out where the making money point was! They haven't announced when it'll go into affect yet.

Ever recover a firearm stolen from you?

Why should it be different from a private citizen buying stolen goods (unknowingly)? From my understanding, if I was to buy stolen firearm, I would lose it, and I would be out what I paid for. Not sure what the answer is, but I'm sure that pawn shops could probably purchase insurance to cover...
