Do polygonal rifled barrels yield more velocity than a traditional rifled barrel?
I don't have a normal rifled 9mm anymore of the same barrel length as my Walthers to compare.
My PDP may just have a fast barrel but the velocities I seem to get with it are usually higher than I normally...
I bought one of the Garmin Xero C1 Pro chronographs recently and it arrived two days ago. I took it to the indoor range today for the first time and tried it out.
The shot noise from the other shooters would try to trip it, I could see that it was trying to do something but it didn't see the...

About 3 months ago I bought a new Walther PDP SD Pro from the gun club I belong too.
I got it home and on shooting it the first time I noticed the trigger wasn't at the advertised 3.8 lbs more like 4.8lb on my Shimpo Strain gauge, so I sent it back to them for that and a jamming problem...
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
What will be your Thanksgiving gun?
I think I will be wearing this one tomorrow morning when I put the turkey in the smoker. Just my wife and I, kids went to their inlaws.
We are still cooking a full thankgiving meal just for us two. (and probably freeze a...
I found this 50AE cartridge in the garbage can at the indoor shooting range I go to. It was neatly laying on a target with a bunch of empty boxes and crumpled targets on top of it. I always keep an eye out for empty .357Mag boxes and take them when I find them.
There may have been more...
I already own a Walther PDQ Q5 SF Pro 9mm target gun. I always thought the world of it. So I went out and bought a PDP SD Pro which has their "Dynamic Performance Trigger" system that was listed on their website, under the parts area as 3.8 lbs break.
I checked their web site several...
I was loading some 9mm luger cases a few minutes ago and needed to fill some primer tubes and did a Hard Stop!
I opened a new box of primers from Winchester I bought recently, and they are a different color than they have been in the last 53 years of me using them.
Has anyone seen these before...
I have a Crossman 2240 Co2 pistol that I have been working with. Actually I have an American Classic pump up also.
I already know that the American Classic, which is .177 pellet doesn't have enough energy to kill a squirrel at 20 yds.
My other air pistol is a 2240 CO2 that is 22 Cal and has...
I inherited an H&R 922 from my father in when he passed several years ago. I laid around here for years and was never touched. Finally my son was bugging me for it so I gave it to him. He had it for several more years and finally returned it to me just a few months ago. I cleaned it and...
I have a H&R 949 revolver that started miss firing. Yeah I'm sure most of you already know what this is but I didn't so when I pulled the grips, I wiggled the main spring and the assy fell out.
Plastic end that rides on the hammer broke off.
I found one at Numrich's so when it gets here I...
For the first time in 5 weeks I got out of the house to go somewhere other than go to the doctors office. (Achilles tendon repair)
My son took me to the shooting range and I took 4 handguns and enough ammo to make it count!
He had to carry the range bag.
I started out shooting my 41 magnum and...
I tried to do just a simple job this morning of pulling so all copper .357 caliber bullets out of some nice new starline brass with my Forster collet bullet puller and this is what was happening.
I couldn't feel the edge of the case and once the collet started down over the case it was all...
I just found one of these mixed in with my brass.
It seems to be the same as a 9mm Luger and in looking it up on IAA forum it seems to have been a factory load for 9 Major.
https://forum.cartridgecollectors.org/t/355-super-info-needed/6339
It Mic's the same as my other 9mm brands and looks...
I here people talking about putting shim kits under the threaded bushings on there single stage presses so they don't have to change die settings when moving dies for progressive to single stage.
I have a Hornady LNL-AP and a Rockchucker ll. Can someone point me in the right direction as to...
I went to the LGS today looking for a pound of Universal or Auto-Comp for reduced loads for in my .327 federal and they didn't have any. Then I spotted this 686-4 Stainless beauty.
After checking it over the cylinder has no end play that I can measure and it looks like it was hardly fired...
https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/copper-jacket-remained-in-barrel-in-357-mag.566071/
I'm resurrecting an old post from this forum that I ran into on the net.
I saw a post on another forum, The Firing Line, where someone wants to load some old semi-jacketed soft points he found...
