I have paused my gun purchases because I have another almost life long hobby that I am expending a lot of cash on high end photographic equipment.

I have come to consider background checks as a minor inconvenience / nuisance. In a store like Scheels I sit down with a laptop, fill out the forms and zip zap I am at the checkout paying for my purchase and out the door I go.

The way the law is today there is no forgiveness practiced. People who commit felonies need to show they deserve forgiveness and there should be a path back to where you came from. Otherwise "Don't do the crime if you can't do the time" and you all know where those words came from.
You would not know there had been a cultural shift with all of the guns that have been sold in the last two years.
Scheel just filled up their hand gun display cabinets with guns ordered over a year ago.
