I am pretty impressed with my S&W 1911PD after a thousand rounds. But it's a $900 gun where I live (Los Angeles). I wouldn't mind getting a second one, maybe the Gunsite version.
3,000 rounds through mine. I had some bobbles early on--probably limpwristing or shooter fatigue--but very reliable since. It's accurate enough close-on and the recoil isn't, for me anyway, a problem. I would trust it, definitely, as a carry pistol if I could carry one where I live.
I put 150 rounds downrange with my G26 a couple of days ago. Superb weapon. Very close, in my opinion, to the ideal carry piece. (No, it's not really a pocket gun.) Glock got it right with all of its 9mm designs, and no less with this one. The double recoil spring makes this a soft shooter...
