57 foreign car tech back ground.. Read????? You ever try and read Engrish, and thats no typo!
I grew up around hunters, and those hunters had guns. Guns got me to flinters and history, which got me to living history and woodland skills.
So far no book has fire by bow drill down because...
I don't know Texas woods well enough to say a thing...
I have read of alder, spruces, and pines working charred. I might guess cotton wood (aspens) would work charred too.
For many years I have owned a repr Bess, A Nor' West gun a flint pistol which ius smooth bore and uses the same ball (0.60) as the nor west gun, and a .40 cal rifle which is 52.5 inches long over all.
With the Nor West gun and the Bess I can fire 6 shots a minute, in training which I am not...
The only event I know I will be at is Muster In the Mountains, off Rt 2 in Randolf NH, usually 3rd weekend in Sept.
This is a event for newbies, is smaller and fees are low. The scenery is uutstanding. I like the laid back feel, and helping out when asked.
The Ancient Ones won't know this...
At home in the boonies, ALWAYS.
When I leave the place I bring 2 guns.
I have never typed on this site un-armed.. not once.
I don't take a shower un-armed and put a stainless steel gun on the soap rack.
The soap rack has suction cups and so can be anywhere on the walls. Mine is just...
That's the info, or 1/2 of it I am after as well.
I have local willow trees, but need to ask and then gather twiggs and dead and down limbs..
I am unable to get 'brand names' for the sulfer till now, and still need niters. (potasium)
I fixed it, but it was like gettingwater from a rock! :D
MCgunner, yes Sir I lost my knife and didn't know it. That was pre re-enactment for me and I had just one knife that day. Now I carry more. :o
Bolt guns like that .22. I pull the trigger lefty, and reach over to work the bolt in any...
Lone_Gunman, I hear ya, but understand the AK is a shooter, and for a mindless peasant. That peasent is not into the refined guns Americans are.
All he wants is a gun that will shoot, and with out fussing around cleaning it. he wants to add bling, but no tacticool bling. He adds religious...
Well I have seen a deer stand to gun fire and not budge 1 inch many times, but make a weird sound like a splunggg... and that deer is gone..
Deer will stand and watch a skidder pulling logs. They will watch a man with a saw running, and they will watch a carpenter pound nails with a hammer...
At 57 years old I have been NICSed enough... I wish it could be get NICSed once every 5 or 10 years like the CCW is, and no hassels there after..
And for FREE..
In NH even with a CCW you must pass NICS every buy, but it is free. The CCW here is 10 bucks and good for 5 years, but it isn't...
The Kusarigama is a farmers weapon, as it is a take off on a syth. I saw a trained fighter use one, and he used the chain to tie up his opponets weapons, and to tie up the opponent himself, who was armed with a long sword and shield.
The one in the picture seems to have a bit larger weight on...
The History Channel flinter shooters are bogus.. A bunch of white glove know nuthin's.. Total bunk!
I admitt getting a great laugh out of them and totally at their expence, and even my wife has a hard laff at them herself!
I was born lefty and can switch pretty easy, but my Bess and my Now...
Ak's are not junk at all. They are just not pretty. You can soak a AK in a lake, use it for a paddle, and fill it with sand and mud and still it will fire.
The AR won't deal with any of that, and the dainty locking lugs only engage 1/2 way when it is clean. Look and see...
There is no...
