Help Me Decide: .50 Beowulf vs 7.62x39 Upper

+1 for the .50 beowulf. Ammo may be more expensive, but if you're just hunting with it, it's a non-issue. My preference for a .30 cal AR would be a .300 BLK fwiw.

    300 winnie sight-in issues.

I was having an accuracy issue with an old model 70 in 25-06. I took it to a reputable gun smith to check the action/headspace, first thing he did (after checking the mounts) was put it in a vice and tap on the scope while looking through it to see if something came loose internally. Considering...

Glock Value Question: gen1 vs gen2 vs gen3 vs gen4

There are a couple of local adds for older Glocks, namely a G22 gen 2 LE trade-in with 2 mags for $400, and a G17 with no finger grooves (doesnt say if it's gen 1 or 2) with 2 mags for $400. My knowledge of the specifics is fairly limited as far as Glocks go, I'm basically looking for a deal...

AR vs. AK Match in Pueblo

Where art thou, pictures? Where art thou, stage descriptions? Edit: ah, nevermind. Found the links to prior years.

    How do I use a MIL-DOT reticle?

IIRC, 1 mil or milradian (measurement of angle) is roughly equal to 1.4 moa, or minutes of angle. Be sure to remember that the mil-dot reticle on a scope will only be equal to one mil per dot if the magnification is set to the proper level unless the reticle is set in the first focal plane of...

So I got this silly Bushmaster XM15 E2S

Pretty sure they are cast. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. If you wanted to "clean it up" you could look at replacing it; pretty easy to do.

Price check M1A with 5,000 rounds

Just a thought, if the ammo doesn't shoot well through the rifle, the 5000 rounds are arguably not worth as much. Just an idea. Either way, though, you can most likely resell them and get their value back and still get a great deal on the rifle. Good luck!

How To: Register a reciever as a Short Barreled Rifle

Howdy folks, I'm looking for some info and the paper work to register an AR lower as a SBR in Idaho. I have searched the ATF website and the forums in vain; if anyone knows where I can find a checklist and the paperwork that would be swell. Thanks

    Remington 770

If you really want a cheap rifle and don't care if you are disappointed, go ahead and buy the 770. I think many people hate them because they want thier toys to perform, and an extra $150 is nickles and dimes in comparison to the quality you are purchasing. If the scope seems good to you, that's...

    RANGE REPORT!!! And some questions...

I don't know what your skill level is at or how patient you are, but your groups don't look too bad, in fact there are some really good ones in there. I know the Appleseed program helped me with form and technique quite a bit, that may be a good idea. http://www.appleseedinfo.org/ Keep shooting!

    What bullet for a M1A?

What powders have you found to work well, or conversely not work well?

    What bullet for a M1A?

I haven't fired the 30 rounds I loaded yet. I'll let you know how they do though. Sounds like the consensus is to shoot 150ish grain bullets.

    What bullet for a M1A?

I guess what I'm asking is what bullet design seems to work well. It's kind of a dumb question, but hopefully someone will have some good experiences to share about loading for an M1A. I'm not necesarliy looking for a armor piercing HE tracer for shooting chipmunks, but if you know where I can...

    What bullet for a M1A?

I recently purchased a SA M1A Socom16 and am curious what bullets work well. I plan on shooting targets, rabbits and possibly ground squirrels with this rifle, so a good hunting bullet along with a FMJ suggestion would be great. FWIW, I started off by loading 168 SMK's in front of 45gr of...

    Bullet trajectory

If you point the rifle at the sky and fire it, is it not true that the bullet is in fact rising? After all, the OP did ask if the bullet rises before it drops; in any instance where the muzzle is pointed "above level with the ground" (or however you are supposed to phrase that), yes, the bullet...

Polymer tip rifle rounds and suppressors

A 5.7x28 sabot round eh? Not likely. A jacket separation may be a problem. Then again I haven't seen too many polymer tipped bullets come apart before. Instability is usually associated with bullet weight and twist rate, so I don't think the style of tip should be your concern. I suggest...

leupold mk 4 rifle scope for remington 700

That's what I was thinking. I don't know if Leupold offers milradian turrets, but mixing mil dots with moa knobs creates a math problem.
