I would think quality built .357 revolver would be far better choice.
I will always love my S&W .357's but jmr40 makes some good points. Why? A Glock in 10mm is about the same overall length as a 3" 357 revolver. A 357 can match 10mm velocity and power, but only in a 6" or longer barrel. When fired from 4" or less barrels the 10mm will beat 357 and do it in a lighter, smaller gun that is more reliable in dirty woods environments, more accurate in rapid fire and holds nearly 3X as many rounds.
If the 10mm doesn't have enough power to meet your needs skip right over 357 and go straight to the 44 mag.
Glock. Done. I guess, if you like revolvers, a S&W 610 (4 inch) would be a great choice.this will simply be a "greatoutdoors" type of sidearm for me
I carried the G20 hiking
i am leaning away from wheel guns @ this point. Mostly leaning in the G20 direction but will have to shoot some different options before I can make up my mind.I like the "big gun with alot of bullets" idea. Also If I had that kind of money I would be investing in a Custom Sig in a 10 mm(sorry couldn't find a pic to post).Glock. Done. I guess, if you like revolvers, a S&W 610 (4 inch) would be a great choice.
But if you have a spare $3200 in your pocket, then definitely this:
I have a Glock 20 and 29, and a Smith 1006. I carried the G20 hiking. But what I want is the Nighthawk Custom Heine Long Slide (not necessarily camo).
Still, as an animal defense gun, a revolver has advantages: no slide going out of battery with contact shots, no jamming if the slide is in contact with something. And once we're into revolvers, there are a lot of better cartridges than 10mm.
That is one hideous and expensive gun. The beautiful 9mm German Sig 210 is only about $2200.Glock. Done. I guess, if you like revolvers, a S&W 610 (4 inch) would be a great choice.

SIG 210 has nothing to do with a pistol in 10mm.That is one hideous and expensive gun. The beautiful 9mm German Sig 210 is only about $2200.
If you're talking about the finish, they make it in blue steel. If you're talking about a long-slide 1911, well, can't please everyone. That is one hideous and expensive gun.
Mach1V, Did you respring your witnesses? How about mag modifications?
