30 days on FX Gun nation

I just found a link where Pia was interviewed at a radio station the day before the show aired on FX. I don't think she has changed her opinion about guns as much as it might have appeared on the show. The interview lasts about 9 minutes.
When you hit the link below, scroll down to the eighth interview listed and hit the "listen" link under "Pia Lalli."

Before anyone congratulates themselves on how an anti "saw the light" check out the interview.

It is actually no longer at the link above (too old). You can find it here.

Basically the show was filmed a year ago. Her attitude hasn't changed one bit. She still sees no reason for people to have guns.

Her comments on Heller ruling "Anything backed by the NRA upsets me. If it was up to them it would be like the OK Corral. They don't want any gun laws at all". Then the radio host say Yeah. Right. Right.

Speaking of her hosts:
"The irony is this man feels so threatened he needs 17 guns ... The constant fear they lived in every single day."

Speaking on guns:
The host: "Did you develop a fondness for the guns? ... Did it change you?"
Pia: "No... Well i am not a liberty to say.... I want everyone to see the show".

The show was taped a year ago. She likely kept her slighly moderated position for a couple days. Today she is just as rabid anti gun as she was on day 1 of the show.

This just further convinces me that trying to convince antis is wasted time & energy. Even if you do convince one you likely could help/convince a dozen neutrals in the same amount of time.

That was pretty good - seemed reasonably well balanced, too. I still can't believe this woman had never heard of anyone actually defending themselves with a gun. Maybe she just didn't take those stories seriously until she was sitting there talking to someone who had. I thought it was hilarious that she went from unarmed in a dangerous city to a well defended house in rural Ohio and was suddenly so worried about her safety. She actually did seem to think (or feel, rather) that it was the guns themselves that caused violence.

And did they actually have her shoot a shotgun at a moving target the first time she'd ever shot a gun? I'm sure the producers thought that would make for better TV, but I think I would have started her out with a BB gun or paintballs or something really really small and quiet.

And did they actually have her shoot a shotgun at a moving target the first time she'd ever shot a gun?
That one was just stupidity on the guys part, in my opinion.
What on earth was he thinking having her first shot ever be a shotgun ?
Id have started her out with something a little less obnoxious... a 22 or a 17 or something, then moved her up from there.

Listened to that "year after" interview and it was full of comments like...

"Ok corral and the wild wild west"

"He has seventeen guns in his collection...SEVENTEEN!"

She keeps calling the house a trailer, complains about no A/C and says at one point "I said to him - what are you so afraid of, I mean if someone broke into this place what would they steal?"

Yeah, the real Pia's attitude shows through very clearly.

I don't think it matters whether not she actually was converted. I think it's more important that she appeared to be converted. Most viewers aren't going to go looking for an interview to see what she really thinks, they will accept the portrayal in the show.
