.41 Mag Association

Agreed, much betterer. I really don't like synthetic grips on my revolvers, which is interesting because I have no problem with synthetic rifle stocks. Wheel guns require wood.

That looks great.
Thank you gentlemen! I don't care for synthetic stocks, either but I do have a few (AR15 and Ruger American) - guess there is an exception to most every rule.

I recently ordered some HSM 41mag cowboy loads for my Taurus 415. I have had the hankering to add another 41mag, if the right one at the right price came along. Well I guess it came along today. I purchased a Ruger Blackhawk 41mag. I added a Ruger Wrangler for a practice companion. I really like the cowboy loads in my 44mag S&W 69. I think the 41mag loads from the Ruger will be nice! 20240303_172819.jpg

About a year ago I got this S&W Model 28-2, which is supposed to be a .357 Magnum, but this one is chambered in .41 Magnum!

I have some ammo that came with a recent .41 Blackhawk purchase. Since I reload my own it's probably something that I won't be using. If you're interested drop me a private message.

It's more than I would personally pay for a post-lock 58, especially if the nickel is scratched as badly as the picture appears. If those are fingerprints rather than scratches it would be a little more palatable, but still not what I would spend a grand on.

my grease hands palming it. not too many scratches

but , $1,000 is still too much, I’m not in a rush, would love a pre-lock

I’m going to offer $1,000

what you guys think about the offer
has a belly button lock

I have no idea what an official .41 Mag should go for, but I paid $500 for my 28-2 which was an offer I did not have to think about. Maybe it was cheap because it was a model that is supposed to be a .357 Mag. Or the low price was because it has substantial cylinder end play that I locked out with some shims, but you get a fierce flash out the gap--ha ha!

Oh, never heard of a belly button lock.

I sure appreciate the offer, but I just went to my ammo room and found I have 13 boxes of .41 Magnum, or about 650 rounds, and I am not likely to shoot 1/10 of that. I suspect there are others on the site who would be interested. I know where folks can get PrecisionOne brand .41 Magnum at a very resonable price, though would have shipping unless they live in metro Detroit area.

My mistake; my eyes skipped over the link that you included and I thought you were asking where to find ammo.

Nickel Plated Smith are semi rare?

Some vintage versions it can be a rare plus. I would have to dig out my S&W book to see for sure, but nickle 58's are not that common, because they were largely intended as issue and service pieces. In the case of this 58-2, I don't think it adds any value to it, even if it was an upcharge on ordering.

Marky-Mark, if you are thinking about offering $1000, offer them $900... and let them beat you up to $1000, or tell them you'll give them $1000 for it, out the door (with tax, etc.) If you really want to wait for a true 57 or 58, I would, but you very likely won't bet getting it for $1000, unless you luck into one, or there is something wrong with it. Looking at GB, right now there are 6 58's of various condition, ranging from a bid of $1013, to a BIN of $2150... so you can see what you are up against.

I don't know that a SW with the Hillary Lock will ever be a collectable.

I would tend to agree, but I don't know about 'ever.' In 20 or 30 years, who knows what will be a worthy collectable and what won't. If I had my crystal ball, I'd still have a bunch of the stuff I threw away as a kid, or discarded as I moved or whatnot... and a few firearms I would have held onto, waiting for 2020 when the prices for pretty much everything went bonkers. I will agree that the lock will be a detriment when put up against a non-lock version, all else being equal.

did you buy that 58-1? 😂 shop owner said someone from TX bought it

someone in your state got it from under my feet… but I couldn’t really afford it either!

Glade it’s GONE!

It didn’t work out for a reason. Mind your pocketbook, and keep your eyes peeled. You see another that interests you, post about it here and we can have a look. An educated purchase is almost always a better one.

Life isn’t over, yet, Mark. .41’s are the Source, it will change your life, swear to god.
