6 rounds of 357 or 7 rounds of 9mm

Thoughts:
If you can only have one which would it be for self defense and why.
Six rounds of 125gr sjhp 357 Magnum or 7 rounds of 9mm 124gr HST.
And the application would be Ruger Speed Six and S&W Shield

I think full-house .357 mag loads are a bit hard to get back into battery for follow-up shots but I like the cartridge a whole lot better than a 9mm. Why not a .40 S&W instead of the 9mm?

I would choose the Shield because I find it to be a better carry piece and it would be quicker to reload if things go sour.

With those choices, and since something is better than nothing I would choose the S&W simply because I'm more accurate with a pistol rather than a revolver.

Real world, give me a 1911 .45acp every time.

I never have warmed up to the 40. Nothing against it. Just not for me.

I carry 9MM Shields more often than any other gun I own. I can shoot them pretty well, as I shoot them every range visit. My only question is why not 7+1, or better...the 8 round mag for 9 total rounds?
