I just got off the phone with TN. Senator Frists' office...the AgJobs Amnesty Bill # S. 359 DID NOT PASS.

I was calling to ask for a no vote, and no amendments vote, but bill has gone down.

I heard the same. They tried to sneak through illegal alien amnesty and everyone got cold feet all of a sudden.

Essentially, the bill (S359) would have granted deportation amnesty to "undocumented workers" i.e. illegal aliens arelady here perforing agricultural work. More to it than that, but that is the gist of it.

I think those used to be called "migrant farm workers"
