WhoooooooHOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Rockin&Smokin! Turned into GREAT shootin day!! Did some Ransom Rest testing for accuracy, Ruger Old Army and Remington, both a limited amount of Mark II .45 supplied by tha 'smith, no measurements yet but looks good!

More later when i can get tha cleanin done!!

You are not the only one shooting today, I was out shooting my black powder guns. I take it you live close or in Lancaster too? In Athens it hit 60, perfect for shooting. Not too hot or too cold.

Better Accuracy .45 Mark II Version!

Yup!

PERFECT weather for it today! Couldn't ask for better! Tha new version from limited shootin shaved abot 3/4 inch offa what tha old one was doin, from tha Remmie Eight inch, is puttin six inta one anda half inches at twenty five yards over 35 grains weighed of 3F Swiss a vegetable fiber wad of 1/16 and a 1/16 lube wad of GATOFEO #1 lube.

Not enough time ta chronograph, but i saved tha load data for future testing.

Tha 50 rounds i lit off wasn't adequate fer any kinda comprehensive conclusions, was consistantly better than tha old version and i'll let ya know! Wife'll try and take some photos after i finish chores!!

DWAVE!

We lives southa Lancaster, tha 'smith lives by Bremen, he keeps an address in Lancaster for tha faster mail delivery!

He actually did call himself that. He was making a speach in Berlin " In ancient times, there was no prouder boast than "Civitas Romanorum est." Now, I am proud to say....( If he had said Ich ben Berliner it would have been ok but when he aid ) "Ich ben Ein Berliner!", he was pronuncing himself a proud german pastry.

Ich ben Berliner. would be no more accurate than Ich bin ein Berliner.

He would have been accurate in saying Ich bin Berliner.

Not a clue. I do know that I isn't gonna try to sprechen no more doitch though.

Not even goin ta start tryin! DO know gettin yer butt chewed fer bein stupid (And well deserved) is MUCH worsin english! MAN!

Yep. effed up spelling and grammer are a bummer.

" Said the Kafir to Professor Slater
Your wife's been eaten by an aligator.
The Professor wore a superior smile;
He said "You mean, A Crocodile."
-from The National Socialist Gramatcon.
My best suggestion is to go ahead and get a Uberti Dragoon. I believe they are the only ones made right now. The minor issues with mine were. Heck there was only one- the loading late would bounce loose and fall down.First I deepened the lever seat notch a bit, then I took the thing out and dropped a spent small pistol primer behind the spring. That gave it more spring tension and seems to have worked very well.

I dressed down the hammer notch sight a bit and have it shooting maybe a bit high at 25 yards. If I had to name three favorite percussion revolvers, it would be on the list- some days right at the top.

The one in the left hand is a Uberti made Second Gen Colt that has never been fired.(not mine)

I can't use the hammer sight V. That threeway is at the back of the barrel. Its supposed to be a 25/50.75 yd sight. Its in the way of the hammer sight.

So I figure that less mv will help. Can't afford another gun right now anyway.

Hey Thom!

How about Dragon's Teeth for the HP's?

Issues

Maxishock is the name of a round ball hollow pointing kit by Thompson Center.
Thunderdome is the name of a breech plug made by Traditions to accept Pyrodex pellets for their Thunder rifle, I believe, and there is a whole slew of Thunderdome websites, too.
I like the name PowerDomes. I think that I remember that Louisville Slugger made a softball bat that was weighted at the top end and they called the end the "Power Dome"
I really don't know whether any of these names are registered though.

Here's some more suggestions:

ThunderMax

Hammerheads

HammerDomes

HammerLock

Thor

I mainly like "Thor" because of his famous hammer, and it sounds like a brand name. (You know, like Thor _______ Bullets!) :D

Good Suggestions From Articap!!

Good ideas! And i KNOW tha krauts goin ta like tha THOR!!

I have always gone by the idea that if the product is good, you dont need catchy names to sell it. Hell, Randall makes some of the best knives in the country, has a waiting list running about 4 years at this point, what does he go by? the #1, #2, etc. How about descriptive names?

BigIron Rifled Barrels
380-80-RN
380-80-HP
380-130-RN
380-130-HP
456-180-RN
456-180-HP
456-230-RN
456-230-HP

(diameter-weight-shape)

Not A Bad Point!

Jaxenro;

Unnerstand what ya mean, good product is good despite name or packaging.

BUT, i bet Randall had some lean times getting established.

So, we'll try a center of tha road thing, no HYPE just facts but something people will remember fer a name.

Understood - how about something like:

Big Iron Power Locked - 380-80-RN

Big Iron Power Locked - 380-130-HP

keeps the BigIron name from the rifled barrels parent company?

Really!

QUOTATION: ‘A thing is called by a certain name because it instantiates a certain universal’ is obviously circular when particularized, but it looks imposing when left in this general form. And it looks imposing in this general form largely because of the inveterate philosophical habit of treating the shadows cast by words and sentences as if they were separately identifiable. Universals, like facts and propositions, are such shadows. :D

ATTRIBUTION: David Pears (b. 1921), British philosopher. repr. In Logic and Language, Second Series, ed. A. Flew (1953). Universals,” ,” originally published in Philosophical Quarterly (1951).

Try this:

Big Iron Power Lock Bullets - 380-80-RN

Big Iron Power Lock Bullets - 380-130-HP

That band near the end "locks" in the power!

JAXENRO!!

GOOD Suggestions&Logo Work!! I can see image of super muscled cartoon Bull strainen against a lock, POWER KEPT CAPTIVE UNTIL RELEASED.

Man! What a pool of creative talent you guys represent!!

The name of a thing is a mere "sign" or label of its acknowledged existence, and in no case is necessarily universal in its application or meaning. While some words may be applied universally, ie: 'tree'. Its universality emerges from the further thought and not its mere name.

To imply that labels denote universals, would imply that within one word, lies the explanation. Since there is a mere impression in the mind as a result of perception, and the further mental action of annotating the object, it is a logical impossibility that a single word can be a universal. To be universally applied is not that same as being itself universal.

Besides, tree, is described in many different languages. A circularity might arise from seeing many different trees but appealing to the "form" of tree in order to categorize the trees as part of a "universal form" 'tree'. (in english)

I think Pears got a little too poetic rather than philosophical, implying that words and sentences are mere shadows and further implying that they are not separately distinguishable. I wonder how he ever wrote a sentence?

How does he understand that the proposition:
This is a dog.
Does not mean:
This is a horse.

A proposition, in logic by definition, is a statement capable of being true or false, or indeterminate. Is he saying that ALL propositions are indeterminate?
(shadowy?)

If he really felt that, then consider a conversation with him: (with simple commands)

Turn on the light.
What?
The light... turn on the light!
What's that?
Just flip that switch on the wall..
Just what, what?

Pears proposes an absurdity, in an attempt to show one.

'THERE IS NO SPOON' (But we DO need more COWBELL!!)

Concepts in tha abstract while ya waits! Me justa poor hick! You alls WAY above my head!!

Have a good night Scott!!
