AR users Compared to Terrorists

One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.
One man's blogger is another man's blithering idiot.

Seriously - this is just what we need. Polarization of the gun owners. Like we don't have enough problems already.

Thanks Mr. Zumbo.

He's not a gun owner, he's a hunter. BTW, tell Grandpa Jim to go to hell and take his bubba gun with him. Set me in a room with this man. I hate hunting rifles.

Yup, He's an Idiot.....

I've met Zumbo, and he IS AN IDIOT. I hope he gets fired and run outta town on a rail for his insane rantings.....

But, Mr Yamato, keep in mind that many of us are both hunters and gun owners......and love our hunting rifles as much as our AR's, SKS's, FAL's and M1 Carbines[ I own and cherish all of the above ]. As a matter of fact, if it were to come down to protecting my family and my country from JBT's, Blue Helmets, Commie's, Illegal Aliens, Zombies, or Space Aliens, my custom Winchester M70 in 30/06 would be the FIRST rifle that I would load and make ready.

Mr. Yamato, please don't polarize this issue as badly as Zumbo did:rolleyes: All the good guys, and gals, need to stick together;)

Reponded

Sent my comments regarding this :cuss: .

ANY gun owner/writer/whatever that feeds the antis is no friend of mine.

Sorry, folks, in my humble opinion, these things have no place in hunting. We don't need to be lumped into the group of people who terrorize the world with them, which is an obvious concern.

That's absolutely insane. AR's are used to protect people from those terrorizing the world, not the other way around. Unless of course, he considers the U.S. Army to be a terrorist organization, in which case he is calling me (a vet), two brothers (currently in), and a brother in law (retired Army) terrorists.

I spent last deer season carrying a Mosin Nagant M-38 through the woods. OMG! A commie military rifle! I really must be some sort of terrorist! I guess that just confirms it. Ship me off to Gitmo and spank me.

But I see he is currently backpedaling.

He still manages to play somewhat the victim, stating
What really bothers me are some of the unpatriotic comments leveled at me.

Not that he called a host of people who defend this country "terrorists" but that people called him on it. That's what really bothers him.

I understand his point-

OK. Stop. Read what I'm writing here. Stay with me.

I understand his point. He thinks that if he can draw a line between "his" people, hunters, and the members of the gun community that currently have the Brady Bunch spun up, the users of EBRs and handguns, that he will make it less likely that the Brady Bunch will come after the guns that he likes.

He's wrong, because he is an idiot, but I can at least see his logic.

What will happen is that they will enact "reasonable" gun control and ban EBRs and handguns. Then someone will go on a rampage with a shotgun, and they'll push to ban those-

Oops! Already happening. Poor Mr. Zumbo, hardly finished speaking and already overtaken by events.

Anyway. After we get rid of the evil black rifles, then the handguns, then the shotguns, someone will go on a sniping ramgape with a hunting rifle, and he will suddenly find his beloved precision bolt gun labeled a sniper rifle and yanked out of his hands.

He might be intelligent enough to repent of his actions, but I would not bet on it.

Mike

He did apologize. And promised to start firing away with said terrorist rifle ASAP. Now if we can get an apology from all the rest of the anti 2A crowd we might be on to something.

How someone can be so out of date and write a hunting col for a magazine is a surprise. But at least you know where he stands. Or stood till today. He was against the black rifle until he was for it? Don't know what is worse, backing the wrong horse or trying to change your bet after the race has started.

some people like "terrorist rifles" . I dont think anybody should be able to use the guns zumbo has. He has an arsenal of deadly "sniper rifles". Those have no place in hunting. :neener:

Go to the Brady site where they've linked to his original "EBRs are evil" blog. It's posted right under a screed about how bad "sniper rifles" are - that would be "scoped precision bolt guns" in their description, with a call to yank 'em.

What's interesting about his original rant:

1. As a long-time hunter & writer, he really truly was completely unaware that EBRs are prolific in mundane uses. If he won't keep up with the times, it's time to retire.

2. The only thing truly making EBRs different from his cherished walnut-and-steel is the unlimited detachable magazine, which he (in so many words) blamed for "spray and pray" and "leads to violence".

That he's going AR hunting with Uncle Ted is good. Best that he walk away from all the flak and go get some modernizing. Perhaps, given time, he can return and write about his finally joining the latter 20th century.

The controversy will continue for a while. He unleashed a storm; better he just get out of it 'till it blows over. What he unleashed shows a severe pent-up frustration building within the RKBA community, and how the hunting community that doesn't overlap really doesn't have a clue how serious things are getting for their counterparts. The outpouring of thousands of messages posted in mere hours should wake up industry & political leaders to the building stress. The Brady bunch better take a look at it all too.

He'll apologize alright, but because he sees that his career is in jeopardy, not because he has suddenly seen the light and joined the ranks of true gun owners.

Worse than the Brady Bunch.
