The other night I was going to the chinese take-out place and ended up driving behind a BLACK TRUCK. It was actually dark blue with US GOVERNMENT tags. It had no other markings on it except E-ONE. It was a cross between an armored truck and one of those S.W.A.T trucks.

Have you ever seen one?

This probably belongs in Legal and Political....The governement uses all kinds of trucks in every color of the rainbow. Many in the GSA fleet are leased.

Dark Blue?

Is it that time of year again?

Is it the silly season again?

Lot of Air Force vehicles in my neck of the woods are dark blue with little to no writing on them, other than “Air Force†and some numbers on it some place in small yellow letters and GOVT plates.

:neener:

ballistic gelatin,

The General Services Administration (GSA) provides the vehicles for most federal agencies, even the military. Tactical vehicles belong to the services but most of the commercial type vehicles you see actually are leased for the using agency by the GSA.

Nothing really evil or freedom threatening about that.

Jeff

Ballastic Gelatin . . .

The General Service Administration – the GSA – provides a WIDE variety of procurement functions for Federal government agencies; examples include: leased vehicles, rented real estate, commonly procured low-cost items such as office supplies, general computer software, common hardware items (PCs and peripherals), and so forth.

So you're telling me that an umarked, armored, office supply truck was delivering in my town at 10:00 p.m. on a Thursday night?

Come to think of it....there is a deep water seaport in town. Maybe they were customs agents?

Mike, report to the office at once!!! Do you know what this has cost the agency? Now we'll have to dig out another mountain and move the hanger. People will be looking everywhere for it. :D

On Memorial Day (heightened alert level, in case you don't recall), the family was at my mother's house, out on the lake. About 3:00 in the afternoon, the civil defense/tornado sirens went off for no apparent reason. I started to get a little curious, and headed the boat back to her house, just to check the news on TV. When we were almost back, three black helicopters flew by in formation, flying almost over her house. Too weird, but true. I'd never seen a black helicopter before, and I'd never seen more than one at a time. I put on two tinfoil hats that night, just to be safe (well, the "hats" part may not be true, but the rest is).

US Army's helicopters are dark green. Marines and Navy are a pale grey. The only black helicopters I've seen belong to Task Force 160, a specops aviation unit out of Ft Campbell. And no, they aren't classified.....

I like these dark vans with the gummit plates, and smoke glass on the interstate. About O200 for and aft a 18 wheeler with a black tarp doing more than the speed limit.

I figure with an AFB and an Arsenal in state they were running security. That or some politician has stolen construction stuff for his weekend retreat. Probably the later :)

Thought the wittle gun ports like armored cars added some character...I guess that is how do-nuts are delivered...

MOS 67U

I was a Chinook (CH47) helicopter mechanic at Fort Campbell in 1984.

Back in the day we painted 'em with a three dimensional, infrared-absorbing paint that was labeled olive drab in color.

It was a semi-fragile coating that rubbed off with fingertip pressure, but stayed put quite well at all airspeeds in any kind of weather! ('Love that Mil-Spec!)

In shadow or at night those rascals sure the heck looked black!

Wait till you see all the black computers, black ball point pens, and black paper clips that the govt has...
The .gov has Dells? No wonder the place is in a firey descending handbasket.:what:

My mom once told me that she saw 6 black HMMWV's in a row going down the highway. I had never thought of her as one who hated Blue Helmets or thought about SHTF, but she did that day. She said it scared the hell outta her.

ballistic gelatin, I think now is the time you need to consider bugging out. They have obviously located you and are getting ready to come get you. As you haven't replied to this thread since shortly after posting, I have to be concerned that maybe they have already gotten you or that you realized the threat and have gone into hiding. If the latter, then I am sure you were fully prepared with BOBs and BUGs, not to mention a secret hideaway in some under-populated state where you know you can operate safely most of the time. I hope you updated your satellite trajetory database before heading out so that you will know when you must not be out in the open...when the satellites are overhead and can identify you.

And remember, the Government is here to help you...

about a year ago I saw 2 F-16s take off from Langley AFB with missles turn north towards Washington and almost immediately go supersonic. So I hauled ??? home to see if there was anything on the news, but nothing ever appeared.

(supposed to be illegal to go supersonic over land now)
