Career as a BATFE agent?

For EVERYONE who is bashing ATF, I would like to see ONE of you post your PERSONAL experience with ATF agents. Not second or third hand--your PERSONAL experiences.

Put up, or SHUT UP!!! There is one thing in common about these rants--they all have the earmarks of knee-jerk statements, just like the ones we hear from the antis about guns: "Baaaad!" "Baaaad guns!" when a majority of them have never even HANDLED a gun, much less fired one. Yet, guns are BAAAAD because someone said so!

So, let's lear from all of you LE bashers about how BAD ATF is--from YOUR PERSONAL EXPERIENCES!!!

If they have infringed upon others' rights, they have harmed me as well because then I have no rights. And, I remember seeing images of Waco, even though I was relatively young at the time. That was a crime against everyone in this country, as far as I'm concerned.

And, oh yeah, they have infringed on my right: I cannot go buy a nice brand new machine gun, because they enforce an unconstitutional law, so they have infringed on my rights.

And my question to you: you an ATF employee or what? You seem obsessed with defending JBT's.

.

Personal experiences are irrelevant in this case, as are any opinions that
you may have about the agents.

How many "good" people you know in the BATFE does not make the beauracracy any less evil. I work at a gun store and thus know a few BATFE agents. They seem to be decent people, but that doesn't mean the beauracracy is.

Maybe it was the question that asked if I had ever been in possession of or sold illegal drugs, and I told them I experimented with marijuana back in high school. Think that is what did me in? (This was in the "honesty statement" of Myrtle Beach's application, after they explained the importance of honesty. NMB didn't even ask about drug use.)

I know the FBI is pretty unforgiving of prior drug use, even marijuana. The FBI IIRC was doing some reviews of the policy. I don't know about the BATF, but I'd check that first before spending too much other effort.

I was at a gun show around 15 years ago, and I happened to ask one of the dealers about full-auto "vet bring backs" from vietnam or whereever... I was asking how those are put back into the system legally. Dealer said "impossible - can't do it...".

Later while I was wandering around the show, 2 guys come up to me and start trying to make a deal for a full-auto in case I knew someone who had one. They were very "buddy buddy". I did not know anybody anyway... but they kept showing up around me, and trying to wheel and deal. I thought nothing of it...

Later they say they are ATF agents and if I know anyone who has a full auto "bring back", I better tell them or they'll drag me down to jail.

Ever since then I make it a point to never talk to anyone at gun shows I don't know, just to avoid any possible hassles.

That hooligan Rosa Parks should have just taken her lumps and voted her way out of jail for siting up front with the white folks. The nerve of some people.

Except that she wasn't sitting at the front of the bus, and comparing what she did to making changes to the BATFE or the topic of this thread really makes no sense.

I can't believe that this thread is still alive but I can believe how little useful first hand information is on here.

Oh, well. I guess the order of the day is to never let a little thing like the TRUTH get in the way of a good bash fest.

Uh huh. Okay.

Whatever, folks. Let the witch hunt continue. I'm done here--so much for the high road. :(

Which speaks volumes for the integrity of FLEOA members.
Well given your track record I don't think anyone in FLEOA, including myself is worried about your opinions.
Glad you put that quote in the first person, Lon.
My name is not Lon, so your "first person" comment makes no sense.

Well, if the whole LEO thing doesn't work out, you could always run for president. It worked for Slick Willie, and it might just work for Obama next year.

Couldn't resist the jab, but I hope it works out for you. I would be squeamish about working for any federal office myself, but that's just me.

Group9, how would taxes swing someone from libertarian to conservative?

I don't know. But, we all sit around and laugh now about how libertarian we all were back then. As you grow up, most start to learn the difference between the world you want, and the world you want to live in.

Hank, before you even start to apply for work as a BATman you should consider the first basic question; Are your parents married? If so, I don't think you're eligible.
