But remember that regardless of a year (used) or a lifetime (new) warranty you still pay 55 dollars shipping if you have owned it more than one year. I recently learned this trying to make a warranty claim. I'm not a fan of their policy (still a big fan of the 22x series though) and have never ran into such a policy with any other manufacturer. On a 300 dollar gun it may be cheaper to repair yourself rather than pay double for the new gun and 55 bucks to get it looked at in the event it breaks.
ETA not arguing. Just pointing out what others may not be aware of. I have and will continue to buy both red box and new sigs
WOW! Thanks for pointing that out crestoncowboy. That is a terrible policy, and this will certainly bias my future firearm purchasing decision. I can tell you that Ruger has a much better warranty that covers shipping. How does S&W handle warranty claims, I wonder? I'm not a SIG fanboy, though I do have several of them, but this is really upsetting to me. Fortunately, I've not had to send any of them back to the Mothership.
