Well, ya, kinda. I like my milsurps to be 100% "the real thing" having "been there and done that" ... so a replacement stock doesn't quite make it that for me. Maybe at some point I'll have to buy another just for that purpose and keep this one just for shooting (or sell it ... naw, skip that, I apologize for even thinking it).

Well...

The CMP, and their stocks, could be considered a USGI re-arsenal, of a fashion.

Just sand it down like a grunt and coat it with PLO or BLO.

Old stocks are not hard to find if you don’t mind having to make some repairs.
 
anyone know how many M1s M1903 (both flavor) and Carbines thre DCM and CMP together put into "civilian" hands?

Well... for the CMP during the Greek returns(~ 2010)... the number was ~ 10,000 rifles/year out-the-door mail-order. (ims)

... or ~ 40 rifles/business day.

Know neither current CMP nor prior DCM.
