Ive read of many being chambered for 5.6x52mmR (22 savage HP) due to it being popular for the small deer species in Europe.
And lets not forget that many European countries forbid the use of any military calibers by civilians. Another strike against finding one in 30-06. Not saying you wont find one, but it'll be tough.
If i were to custom make a drilling, I would want 16Ga, 22 sav HP, and a big rifle bore like 375 H&H.
I agree with DM-he knows his drillings! I will be looking for a Sauer 16x16/9.3x74R in a few years-got a couple more guns to get yet.
That would be a Vierling- 4 barrels, and very $$$$. I've only seen one in my life, and it was 16x16/.22 HP/9.3x74R. The price had 5 numbers in it, (the first one wasn't '1') and that was over 20 years ago.
The .22 HP was in the rib.
Personally, I prefer Krieghoff's over Sauer's, and the Krieghoff I hunt with all the time, weighs in right at 7 pounds...Lot of steel there, what do these things weigh?

Where is the Rifle over Shotgun classification? Like my old stevens 22-410?
I've always called them "combo guns", I don't know the German word for them, but I bet you there is one.Where is the Rifle over Shotgun classification? Like my old stevens 22-410?

Rifle beside shotgun is a Cape Gun. Rifle over shotgun is a Combination Gun (though both are ‘combination guns’). Shotgun over rifle is ein abominationsbuchsen.
