Coolest Guns

full auto silenced Uzi. That was fun. I actually found it really easy to control as well, and I'm not used to full auto weapons.

I was in the military and fired everything from a 22 target pistol to a Nike Hercules missile. Probally the coolest was the helicopter mounted TOW missile or the UH 1 helicopter door mounted crew served minigun supported by a search light and a starlight scope for night operations.

Beretta M948 .22LR when i think i was 10 or so. well ether that or shooting a .357mag snubbie when i was maybe 12 or so. put all 6 shots in the 10 rung at 40ft.

The coolest, was a breech-loading black powder rifle the name of I have forgotten. It was loaded with a paper cartridge and when the lever was put up the end of the paper tube was cut.

Second place - just barely - was an experiment my late uncle built. The propellant was 'cast' in a flammable plastic and the firing pin was a battery powered heated rod. The lag tme was nearly a full second but when the action cycled there was no expended cartridge. It was cool but what he called a brilliant failure.

AR-15 civilian version in .223

Reason: Im a newb and my experience isnt very deep. What amazed me was how at 100 yds having never touched the gun before it was so simple. Given a ten round clip for a human silhouette target I pumped all ten into the target at reasonable accuracy in the space of 15-20 seconds. Then to see how accurate the gun really was, I stopped and slowed down, clocked the target directly in the middle of the face. The abilities of the gun were amazing.

Im not a full auto fan... yet

I really liked the black powder muzzle loaders that I shot in scouts. Shot a target of Barney the Purple Dinosaur, that made it even more fun :D

Full-auto Uzi 9mm. Only 150 rounds, but it was fun. I firred a full mag non-stop. then fired the rest in bursts.

A .458win mag I don't even know what the gun was I was at a buddys house one day and he asked If I wanted to shoot a new gun of his. Shot it of off his back door "ONCE" :D It was fun It was a sweet looking gun, great woodwork but I'm not big enough to shoot that gun he's like 6'6" 300+ needless to say he's a big boy and likes to shoot big guns.

I've fired M2 machine guns, M60 machine guns, M16s and have even assisted with a 105mm Howetzer, but the coolest gun I've ever fired is the 20g mossberg 185k that my grandfather bought my father after WWII so they could hunt deer, rabbit and squirrel together. That gun belongs to me now and I refinished it to new condition. I still shoot sporting clays with it on occasion.

Hmmm....

Sharps .50-140 - clanging away at a steel buffalo from 500 yards is a hoot.

Second runner-up, full auto Mac-10 .45 with a Sionics suppressor. Without the can, it's a bullet hose. With it attached, you can write your name.

Good topic.

The coolest - a toss up between a French AA-52 and a FN MAG, both full auto.

Not as cool, but still pretty neat, a Zastava M21

I also was able to shoot an auto Russian made AK-47, but I cant say it was the "coolest".

Officers Wife, that sounds like a sharps.

Lonestar is that the Vulcan out of a A-10 Warthog?
Coolest I got to shoot was the M997 Barrett .50 cal, funnest full auto was Squad Automatic Weapon w/ 250 rd box magazine

Red Ryder BB Gun... you know you wanted one from the time you were 8.
Agreed.

Got mine when I was 8 (or was it 7?).

Loved it. First "real" gun I'd ever shot. (Hey, it slung projectiles. To me, it was "real".) What a total thrill.

Next coolest was an 1863 Springfield cap lock in .58. My father traded an old jeep for it.
We spent hours with it. It had little carvings of the names of owners in the stock. I could visualize the history.

These days: my Marlin 336 in .30-30. Yeah, I'm easy to please.
