I live is slightly rural Ohio, and at the beginning, I had no neighbors on my south, a duplex on my north (with a cop on one side, and a retired cop two doors down who also shot), and nothing west of me (the rear of my property, where I shoot). Since then, I have two neighbors south of me, and some houses to the SW about 300 yards in that direction. I can still shoot safely NW on my rear lot, and I do. Some have complained (to me, and the sheriff's office), but shooting is permitted in daylight, and I'm sure some "new" neighbors have come and gone in some of the houses newly built, maybe because of the shooting. Tis sad. They were always welcome to come join in the fun. When they ask about the shooting, I just tell them I am a competitive shooter, and it's just part of my training, like an Olympic competitor might practice. One neighbor got pissy and didn't speak to me for about a year. It wasn't so bad. He had been one of those nosey neighbors before that, and he just gave me a break from nosing in my business.
