Do you carry a boot knife?

"Illegal knife" means a:
(A) knife with a blade over five and one-half inches;
(B) hand instrument designed to cut or stab another by being thrown;
(C) dagger, including but not limited to a dirk, stiletto, and poniard;
(D) bowie knife;
(E) sword; or
(F) spear.

Since a double edge blade could be defined as a dagger if it were in a dagger shape you might consider yourself to be limited, but in reality there are any number of clip points with sharpened swedge that aren't shaped like a dagger.

Knife Rights is still working in TX to remove the "illegal knife" definitions or at least to trim them down.

I carry a folder now (Ken Onion Leek), but while in the Army I carried a Gerber Guardian on my web gear suspenders upside down. While off duty I would often carry that same knife inside a cowboy boot. The leather sheath finally rotted out, but I was able to get a nylon one.

Yep, I've been keeping up with their news, I have donated to them and wish them Godspeed.

Also have the western boot knife. But Gerber a better knife.

I have several boot knives though I have only carried a Gerber Guardian as a boot knife on a couple of occasions. Two of my favorites are The Gerber Mk.1 and the Morseth Boot Knife are a couple of my all time favorites while the Gerber River Knife and the G96 Boot Knife are two decent knives that offer very good quality for the money.

I am an old man now. In 1966 I went down to Main PX Ft Lee and bought a gerber MK 1. After I got out it was in the closet until a guy we trained as an Explorer Scout (search and rescue)came back by wearing E5 stripes to say thank you. I showed him the knife and he just rolled it into guard without thinking. I gave him the knife and my wife got out $200 of her mad money and told him to find a trainer. A few years back he wrote me and offered to return the knife as he was 20 years done and retireing. Told him to find a new owner and he gave it to a rotary wing warrant officer female. 15 deployments since 1966 and still in use. Gerber MK 1
