The Aimpoint PRO looks like the only logical choice for me.

(Just a guy who doesn't have the military paying for my Aimpoints for me.)

I'm pretty sure I've put it in writing on here, if Aimpoint were to offer a AA-battery powered sight in the $500 range, I'd be in line to buy one right up front. It's the only thing I can think of that would make the PRO more "user friendly".

I'm with you. I want an AA powered optic again like my EOTech.

I was in Home Depot this morning and they had thousands of AAs. The 2L76 type were nowhere to be seen. I really want a super common battery no matter how super long the battery life is.

Great!!

Just got this message back from the post office on the EoTech I sent back last Thursday, 12-17-15.

I just got my return authorization email and packed up the ol' 511 to return. For those who've already done so, has anybody already gotten their refund?

I wonder if 554's are eligible for refund?
Near as I can tell, everything is eligible, no questions ask.

My 511 was 9 years old and I got a return authorization overnight.

I just got my return authorization for my 512 from 2006...submitted the request on Saturday

It is all packed up and will go out in the mail in the morning.

I'm thinking of going with a HOLOSUN PARALOW HS503C so I can keep the same reticle as the EOTech...then I'll have a couple of extra dollars to spend on accessories

Has anyone received the actual refund yet? In what form do they issue the refund (check, gift card, prepaid Visa card, etc)? Also, does anyone know how long the refund period will last? I ask because I'm out of town for the holidays but would like to send my EoTechs in. Thanks!

That's because the USPS tried to deliver after business hours. I hate trying to track USPS shipments. The USPS acts illogically on occasion, like the time I tracked a package that left Tennessee made it to Texas went back to Tennessee then back to Texas in my hands.

Me too. I just don't enough about Holosun to make the jump.

Yes I always wondered why SOCOM bought so many of them. Knowing the Army as I do, I suspect that it had a lot to do with having something "different" from the rest of the Army.

I know the 3rd Group Guys I was attached to in early 2007 all had EOTechs on their shorty M4s.

Well I guess it's time to kiss my 512 goodbye.

I have the same kill-the-battery issue RC does, *and* point of impact shift at low temp. I thought it was my ammo, when I took it out for a winter match, corrected the POI, but when I got it out next time in the spring, I was off again in a different direction with the same ammo?

I was scratching my head on that one.

But I guess I know what the deal is now. Damn thing just didn't like subzero weather.

Mine is 2006 era.

Kind of a shame, I like the damn thing.

But .. tools are tools and I can't keep something around that won't turn on when I need it. Given Illinois winters, and temperature swings we get, those sub zero POI shifts and no return to zero, are no-good, either.

I have an old eotech model 400 I was wondering if anyone knows what the msrp on it I'm going to see If they will take it back even though it is OLD. But i don't know the msrp of it. Thanks

I know a couple of former SEALs who still swear by the EOTech.

The most important thing for them was how much faster they felt they could get the reticle on target and break the shot. I don't have the real world experience on a two way shooting range to argue that point

Battery life made no difference to them, they just put in new batteries before they went out...AAs are cheap insurance

I got a similar message much to my disappointment. I had placed mine in the mail on the 15th.

Well, they received mine this morning, so at least it got there with 2-day Priority mail in 5 days!!

Has Eotech responded publicly yet? Is this a problem with ALL Eotechs? Hmmm, I wonder if/when the sale begins.... will Eotech go out of business? Those Holosuns might be getting hard to find. I've been trying to save for an Eotech, really like the reticle set up, crap!

Got my RMA refund confirmation back in 30 minutes today. Will ship it off in the morning. I'm sure it'll take a while with holiday congestion at the post office.

I saw new Eotech sights on the shelf just yesterday.
I wonder if the new ones have been corrected.
512 marked at $425.

Has Eotech responded publicly yet?
I don't think so.
And it certainly hasn't hit the mainstream gun media yet.

No mention from the NRA, Guns & Ammo, Shooting Times, etc.

Once it does, the returns will become a tsunami / landslide I betcha!!

With their generous offer (whatever you paid, regardless of age) I'd be very surprised if they did make a big announcement.

...and they really don't need to, they've settled the governments claim already

I wonder if/when the sale begins.... will Eotech go out of business?
I gather you aren't familiar with how large a corporation L-3 Communications really is

+1

Look at L-3 stock prices.

It hasn't even made a blip on the radar yet!!
