wow i'll have night sweats thinking about that. a shame, i suppose they had their reasons but doesnt make it any easier for me to fathomI believe this is true. The ones, including carbines, that were blocked were being bought then sold through commercial distribution channels. The second batch of about 85,000 has many that are supposed to be NOS in containers.
I won't tell you how many cases of unissued...Garands...carbines...1911s...Thompson's...etc. are sitting on the bottom of the Pacific one of my high school football coaches jobs was to load in trucks and push over the side of his supply ship at the end of the war. :banghead:
