The "how can they perfect perfection" stuff is less original than khakis and a blue dress shirt, and older than Moses. It's a slogan. Let's move on.

Water is perfect for rehydrating you, but why not make it better with some electrolytes?

"Glocks have such a superb trigger pull"....said no one ever.

I handled a Gen 5 19 today. Loving the lack of finger grooves! And I looked down the barrel to see traditional cut rifling lands and grooves.

Molds were changed, they just forgot to add a bevel in the front when making the new molds.

Yawn.......
Saw this picture today of a Gen 5 poster.

No finger grooves. No standard front cocking serrations. A DLC coating. And a slightly rounded front end as seen on the 34/35.

What do you all think? I was hoping for a little more although I couldn't tell you what exactly. Just seems like a polished up Gen 2 for now.

Maybe the grip texture is more like the RTF series? Hard to tell in the shot.

Yawn......

I thought this thread was about the Glock 5 being released and the differences it has compared to the last generation's, it has kind of turned into glock "To hate or not To hate"

It's hard to get excited about another "Glock Generation". I have nothing against this company own G26 and if they incorporate rail into new generation I will trade up to a new gun. I hope that shine indicates the "frying pan finish" and used for about a decade. It was very durable unlike what they use now in series 3 and 4 and parkerized one they used in series 1 plus 2.

Sometimes it's hard for me to put my finger on it, and sometimes it isn't - THR membership has changed and it doesn't seem to be for the better. When I first joined people had quality discussions and were constructive. Maybe I was too new to the scene to recognize poor behavior then, but I sure see it now.

Has anybody shot some lead down the new barrel yet? I'm sure someone has, just a matter of whether or not they've dug this far into the thread yet.

Just a thought- but is this new barrel a response to the army pistol trials? I seem to recall one of the requirements was 4 or 5 inches at 50 meters. This new barrel is listed as a similar to that.

I see it also. But, I don't think it is just THR. I think it is beginning to permeate our society from top to bottom.

It's everywhere, but it's really starting to show here on THR - much more uncouth as of late with unchecked language, lack of civility and just downright misinformation that won't be backed down.

For 5th generation G26 they should have kept the finger grooves and added little rail for small light mounting. The finger grooves work well for small to medium sized hand plus phalanges and make quick unholstering easier. Lets face it for those with huge hands what is needed is G19 not G26. It just like if one has large feet and long fingers and needs to buy shoes or gloves we don't cut front of shoe off or finger portion in gloves but buy larger size instead, logical yes?:scrutiny: If the gun has features I want I will upgrade from my old G26.

As far as the finger grooves/ no finger grooves debate goes- maybe one day they can make adjustable front straps like they do back straps so the user can change them as they see fit.

After handling both, I decided to change my vote to "no". I would however like to acquire one of the new barrels if they ever become available.

Any idea when other models will go to the 5th generation? I've developed a hankering for the G40, but might either wait for Gen5 (the barrel that I can shoot cast bullts through with slightly more accuracy is appealing) or go for a model-closeout cheaper Gen4 of it.

Or, like a mouth guard, just put it in boiling water for a few seconds and pull it out and grip the gun. That way it will conform to your hand perfectly. Are you listening Glock?

Getting your hands on a barrel will do you no good, it is incompatible with any other generation.
Well then that would be a deal breaker for me. I was curious to see how well it compared to the KKM in my 17.

Did they fix the factory trigger this generation?
The triggers on both were nice and crisp, but the wife's older 19 is already that good. They both felt comfortable in the hand. I don't like the lack of parts interchangeability.
