Happy New Year folks
Anyone know a good 1911 9mm?
I use to see a lot of springfields around but not anymore?

Thanks for any info

No personal knowledge, but I have heard that STI is good. Trojan I think. Have not fired it myself. I was looking at one, but decided to stay with the .45 for as much as I actually end up shooting.

EMP's look cool but I want a full sized
Not much into 3" barrels
But I know they rate those EMP's as real nice pieces
Thanks

Yes I use to like mine
I had a Belgium Browning original years ago,
Accuracy not great though & not as easy to do accurize
Thanks

Les Baer does make great guns!
I wish I never sold my 38 super I had from him years ago,
It was great compensated
But alas........... Let that be a lesson never sell guns :)

Ok...now get rid of the silly squiggly cocking serrations and lower the price by $600 or $700 and you have a winner.

+1 on that; seems pricy, for sure.

The Springfield EMP does have a shorter barrel, but the grip on it is amazing.

One awesome thing about it is that the barrel is made the same size as a 1911, but the drilled out "cavity" is 9mm sized, meaning that it's a really heavy duty barrel.

Springfield also makes a full size 1911 frame for the 9mm caliber. Here's a picture and some stats.

Yes it seem pretty tough these days to find a reasonably priced 9mm in a 1911 frame

I dont like plastic guns.......not that there is anything wrong with those....just not for me.

I might just pick up one of those CZ75B SA
Single action version & from what I have read quite accurate.
But of course it is no 1911

We will see :)

Thanks for all the tips!

I have the CZ75BD. I put adjustable rear sights on it, fiber optic front, and had BarSto install a 5" barrel after I shot a double tap on a squib. didn't blow the gun up, just bulged the barrel to the point that it would not cycle, and needed removed by my smith. Very accurate gun at this point. Not too shabby with the factory barrel.
