I've been wanting a 9mm 1911 pistol for a while now because of arthritis in my hands. My 45 acp 1911 is becoming a bit too painful for me. A friend that shoots in a bullseye league with me just couldn't shoot his pistol well and decide to sell it. One look and a short shooting session and I said I'd take it.

Kimber KHX Custom with a Trijicon RMR red dot, Randall Fung target grips, 6 magazines and two other sets of grips along with the originals. One set of grips are a nice walnut. I'm not sure who manufactured the muzzle compensator. The pistol has about 500 rounds through it.

I shot a couple boxes of ammo and the recoil is almost nothing, accuracy is great due to the target grips. Really help stabilize the pistol in my old hands. Naturally I've included a couple pictures. I got lucky and the grips fit me like they were made for me. IMG_1601.JPG IMG_1602.JPG

I'll bet that gun hardly moves when you fire it. Very Nice.

My 1911's are also more basic than that one, no compensator, and certainly less than a whole tree's worth of wood in the grips :D . 9mm is very nice to shoot from a heavier gun like a 1911, I have a Commander-sized in that cartridge, but have a full size in .45 Auto, 10mm and .38 Super. The Super is another really nice cartridge for the 1911, as a matter of fact, the first gun chambered for the .38 Super was a 1911.

that thing looks crazy!!! can I shoot it

My favorite 1911 to shoot is a 9mm, Dan Wesson Guardian.
Have a couple others as well, one was a RIA that I converted to 38 Super.

Where does the compensator attach? It looks like the Wilson bushing comp which adds a bit of weight but doesn't move much gas.

Try some midrange .45s, a 185 at 750 or a 200 at 700.

I think I have more 9mm 1911/2011 pistols than any other caliber.

115+115=230 for the bullet casters…:)

A late buddy (who actually killed a Nork with one at bad breath distance in Korea) said a 1911 was the best platform for a .45.
Commanders and Officers are really sweet in 9mm; a Colt 9mm Commander is one of my favorites. It is what the gun was originally designed for.

Even though I'm a big fan of having a 1911 in 9mm. or .38 Super, I never really liked them in a full size Government model. I much prefer them in the Commander/Officer's Model size format. This is my Commander .38 Super/9mm. convertible:

Had a full size 1911 9mm that I sold to a buddy; it really was mellow, but I like the Commander sized 9 better. And the Defender is a honey; light to carry, easy to shoot.
Love .45s, including Colts, but nines are cheaper to feed.
