Sounds like things HAVE gotten worse in Silly Noises since I lived there in the early '90s (I was in college and living with my parents while my dad was stationed at NTC Great Lakes. He retired in '93). I remember you could buy a muzzle-loader kit with out an FOID. I used to frequent Mike Schrank's Smoke-n-Gun in Waukegan all the time. Bought the frame for the 1911A1 I built there. I used to LOVE the Lake County gun show, and spent a lot of paychecks there (at least, what I had left after college tuition, books, and gas money...).

Now that Blago is hoist on his own petard, any chance of getting rid of Dickie Daley and the Daleycrats? Remove King Richard II of Chi-town, and Illinois may actually become a safe place for honest gun owners to live in...

There's a lot of assuming he actually HAD a FOID. Maybe that was just a standard condition the judge tells ALL the defendants.

This may be a possibility, but it sounds like unrealized income at this point. . It might have never been income, he was willing to take it for his election committee (which would not have been treated as income anyway). I don't think he needs anymore charges, he is going away for a good number of years on these charges. I just want a more reasonable governor to succeed him.

I doubt it very much. Blago is on tape saying that the only thing Obama's office was not offering anything for the senate except appreciation. I cannot complete the quote due to Art's Grandma.

Edit: Ah...I see by reading the good ol' US Constitution that the governor can make *temporary* senate appointments, to be filled permanently by the legislature. I still find it hard to believe that corruption of this magnitude could exist in Illinois without Obama knowing about it. Hell, for nearly a century, Chicago has been world famous for corruption.

I HATE hearing how Illinios is so corrupt and the most corrupt state in the nation. Illinios isn't corrupt, Chicago has enough people that they can push the rest of the state around. Chicago treats the rest of the state as a nuisance, they don't even live or govern from the capitol in Springfield. (Blago refuses to stay in the govenor's mansion even for one night) Most everyone "down state" is fed up with being pushed around by Chicago and we were so happy to hear of his inditement

Didn't you know - only the police are allowed to have handguns in Chicago (and the politicians and rich people, of course). That's why it's a "police state"! The worst part of the whole deal is that he did Not get arrested Because of the charges.... They have that kinda Dirt on 7/8 of the politicians. He was Arrested because less then 24 hours earlier he stopped ALL State business with Bank of America (BOA) on account of the large manufacturer (furniture? ) that BOA stopped a credit line to.... and was forced to close. He made the announcement... And woke up the next morning to the feds. Nothing is ever as it seems with these "People"
