Gun Nuts

It's a term I use to show the link between the two forms of bigotry. It has an emotional tag that should get attention and faced with being accused of using such a label on us should cause some shame or at least pause for thought on the part of radical anti-gunners.

Wrong!!!!

"Social ******", would be viewed as another plank in the anti platform of all gun owners are racists...

If you can't see that then I am worried:uhoh:

When I am called a gun nut, I get a noticeable swelling of pride. I stand taller and put a little bounce in my step. If I bother to reply at all it is along the lines of "better gun nut than sheeple" or "you can thank me later."

That's a pretty far stretch and the only impression it will give others is that you're a gun nut and a racist.

It'll definitely do that, but not the sort of attention you want.

Remember, anti-gun lefties never quote anything in context.
It is sad, but if you say something in a public forum, you have
to think before you speak or write: How will this sound totally
out of context and spun like a top?

"Societal Leper" might be more appropo...we are castigated for what we are, who we are, and what we care for, not for any criminal or anti-social acts we have committed. So we must carry the biblical bell, and call out mournfully as we stumble along, "Unclean! Armed! Unclean! Armed!"

If they ask why I need a gun in my house, I tell them to stop by unannounced late at night and they'll find out. I remind them to wear black clothes and a ski mask, and to brandish a knife while threatening my children.

If they ask me why I feel it's necessary to kill bunnies and Bambi, I congratulate them on having the patience and morality to only eat meat that dies of natural causes. At least the deer I claim have known freedom and a quick death.

I always consider the source of stereotypical thinking. THEY don't own any guns, so if you own only ONE, you're merely stereotyped as a "gun owner". If you own TWO, their eyebrows twitch a bit. Heaven help you if you own more than TWO, for you're a "gun nut"!

On the evening of when the "Rodney King riot" broke out, back in 1992, I happened to be near my favorite gun store and decided to stop in. The parking lot was jam-packed, but I found a parking stall and went inside. The store was also jammed with "prospective" first-time gun buyers, all of them moaning and groaning about having to comply with the mandatory 10-day "waiting period". During a short lull, the manager of the store took a break outside, and we talked for several minutes. He said that he had turned down NUMEROUS bribes! "The best one....", he said, "...was a guy who wanted a Ruger 10/22 rifle. He was willing to pay for the rifle AND an additional $2,000, if I overlooked the 10-day waiting period for him!" (Kinda expensive!)

I think that I'd rather be tagged as a "gun nut" than a "NO gun numb nut"!
