How do you office going CCWers keep your gun concealed?

Fortunately, my company is pro 2nd Amendment. In fact, when you hire on you are shown the boss' "security system" (.357). So I can do what I want, and I am not the only one. Our 2 admin assistants recently got their carry permits. It is openly discussed. At times we have show and tell.

OWB pancake style hoster holds the pistol tight and high...

cover garment added to wardrobe three seasons of the year...

Fleace vest (L.L. Bean style)...

Sweater...

Sweater vest (argyle "professor" style)

all these fit the office casual bill around where I am...

For me, summer is the problem and I'm thinking more and more that ankle carry a mouse gun is the solution.

Employers who have a "no firearms" policy mean "no firearms." If that's the case I do not advocate anyone carrying a firearm to work in that sort of situation. Employers who do not have a firearms policy should not terminate based on something which is not "illegal" or "improper" either legally or by company policy.

that's may be par for the coarse in the socialist utopia of CA... but if you live if you ever get to live in a free state you'll find that freedom cuts both ways...

I work in a right to work / employment at will state....

that means that I can't be forced to join a union, or denied employment because I choose not to join a union.

it also means, the owner of the company I work for can fire me at any time for any reason.

Live free or die baby!

some people prefer an illusion of freedom, in exchange for the illusion of state provided security

Kholster tuckable or smart carry for a small auto. One of these methods will work for all my dress requirements and are cheap solutions. I refuse to carry a mouse gun.

I have a Smartcarry and an ankle holster as options for my Keltec p3at, but it seems I usually go with pocket carry in a business environment.

ps: always carry my Spyderco no matter what.

i can open carry at my office if i want to, so i don't give a crap about printing at work. i either pocket carry, or use a iwb holster in front of my shirt so i'd actually have access to the gun if i needed it.

i'm thankful to work at a very pro-gun place. more people carry to work than don't carry. show and tell is common, as are lunchtime trips to the range.

last time at the range, 5 of us were out there at lunch time (we always come around the same time). the range master asks "hey, where's your boss? he know what you're doing at lunch?" jokingly. i pointed to my boss, who was loading a bunch of AR mags at that time. :D

Office concealed carry

I have a North American Arms Guardian .32 ACP with a "covert carrier" clip on the handle that conceals near perfectly. With Slacks and a shirt/tie on, I slip it in the front of my waistband. The only thing visible is a small black clip. No printing and it's never been noticed by anyone. Pretty easy to get to also.

I'm lucky , own my own business , so every day , every hour I'm not asleep , IWB Glock 26 I also have no problem with my employees ccw , If I don't trust them to carry concealed , why the heel would I want to employ them ? I wear untucked sport shirts with slacks . Never had an issue.

Hey, I'm pro 2A and all that, but we have a no gun policy at work. And all employees agree to follow company policies as a condition of being hired.

Anybody caught carrying at work would be terminated.

Don't assume it would be considered a minor violation if your employer has the same policy. It's not.
This goes with most employers, as for my job at a hotel, they dont even allow weapons period(knives, guns, tasers, w/e).

Like one of my previous managers said, "Dont ask, dont tell, dont show and no one will care."
You get caught, you pull it to stop a robbery or what ever the reason, you will be fired. So far, been here six years without a problem.

I use a shoulder holster under my button up, normally wear a tshirt or tank under. It's not visible by any means, and I dont have problems with people wanting to 'embrace' me on the night shift.
I get police officers in every night to check up, I do not think they have even realized.

for me a TRUSS is a must.
http://www.specgear.com/Truss.html

If I can wear a sport/suit coat I do and use a IWB holster. If it is hot or sport/suit coats are not appropriate. I wear the TRUSS..

With the right shirt you can be loaded down and no one will know. I once carried a g 19 to a client with TLR2 laser light on the rail and 4 magazines just to see if I could pull it off. I had to modify the gun retention to get the light to fit.

The only down side is you will need to wear a tshirt underneath it and you will need to practice your draw. I wear it with the gun on my strong side and tuck in my shirt as normal with one detail. Right at 3 oclock where the dress shirt bottom comes up the highest I untuck enough so I can stick my thumb in and jam straight up then down on the gun and draw. Practicing this sucks cause you have to tuck the shirt back in. I do have a few snap up shirts but not many. Those are the easiest to draw from. Watch the videos on the web site..

I am a technology consultant and visit a very wide variety of workplaces and this is by far the best way to carry unobstructed. Just pick the right shirt and nothing will stand out.

I do my belly band holster with a S&W J-frame, with loose shirt or baggy sweatshirt over that, and NOBODY has ever been able to tell. It ain't broke and I ain't gonna fix it......

Not very High Road - if you don't like your employer's work place rules, either get them changed, or change your employer

While I understand your position I disagree.

Employers put policies in place to cover their buttocks legally.

They know that people break them, they just want an exit strategy.

Case in point. I managed a chain of liquor stores. Company policy was "no weapons" for liability purposes. Many carried. The owner did nothing to enforce the policy and I think wanted us armed.

He had his cake and he ate it too.

i like the fact u think a print doesnt matter where in fact a print can get u charged with a felony for brandishing a firearm if a police officer thinks it is noticable enough

Well... most people cant just change a dang policy. You will raise all sort of red flags by doing this and you will probably not last long. I know what rules and laws actually protect people and I also know which ones are crap. I will do what I believe is right regardless of other peoples stand on the issue.

BTW. You sound very elitist. I hope you are joking.

I wear loose fitting dress pants, Dockers, etc. with big pockets and choose my wardrobe with carry in mind. I carry a J-frame S&W M&P 360 in a soft pocket holster with masking object in the front pocket. Lightweight, compact, rounded and masked well, it just looks like a slight rounded bulge in my pocket.

I carry things in my other pockets as well such as a pocket pc phone, small wallet, keys, leatherman in a sheath and speed loaders in a nylon folding knife pouch in the back pocket beside my wallet. Everything balances out with no sagging.

As long as it's legal i don't worry but the antis would certainly make a stink about it if they knew.

are you somehow talking to me?

a business is private property. you can open or concealed carry on private property, at least in florida. my employer and owner of the building (one and the same) allows whatever firearms one wants to bring to work to be there. i could walk around with a gun on each hip, an ar-15 on my back, and the only thing a cop who walked in could say would be "nice guns."

so, since i'm legally allowed to open carry, i don't give a crap if i'm printing. when i leave the building, however, i make sure that i'm not printing by rearranging where i'm carrying the gun, putting on a jacket, etc.

I drive a straight truck at night so that is my office. But I keep mine in my diddy bag.

I work in an office, Dockers, golf shirts.
I pocket carry a P3AT or LCP.

The little case that Keltecs ship with is useful, especially if you cut a piece of rigid plastic to fit inside it. Place the plastic to the outside and it prints like a wallet.

I also have a P32 that fits inside a travel manicure case with hard sides. Half the people at the office got them at a convention a couple years ago, so even if I laid mine on the desk no one would think =twice about it.

Mostly I just use a pocket holster. the Uncle Mikes #1 and #2 are under $10 and do a good job of hiding the shape. A P3AT fits almost entirely inside the #2, which is rectangular.

And I sometimes carry a NAA Black Widow in an eyeglass case.

Right now I'm carrying a P238 in a leather pocket holster. It prints more than any of the above, but I'm over worrying about it.

Any of the above work fine. don't worry about printing with any of them. Only you know that rectangle isn't a pocket notebook or a wallet.

When I have to go into an office building I put my little Sig P238 in a small pouch on my belt with a medical cadusa logo on the outside. I have a small diameter tube that runs out of the bag into my waistband It looks for all to see like an insulin pump. In the three years I have been doing this no one has ever asked me about it and I have been in the corporate headquarters of such companies as GM, General Electric etc. ** Wait, I know the p238 hasn't been out for very long, but you may insert Keltec, Smith airweight etc. I have tried them all including the new Rugers and the Sig suits me best. OG
