OR: How do you carry your pocket gun(s)?

I see lots of talk about "pocket" guns To me this means "pants-pocket" gun, because I think of a "pocket" gun as an always with me thing.
It's nice to have a jacket to stuff into, but not necessary.

On to the point!

I was at the gun store, trying to stuff various pistols into my jeans (WITH PERMISSION :uhoh: :p ), and I came across difficulties.

A S&W Ladysmith could fit in the front pocket, but barely, and was hard to draw.
A Kahr PM9 had the same problem.
In either case, if there was anything in the bottom of the pocket, the grip would be sticking out.

Tried a Glock 27, and it wouldn't fit at all (I know, not really a pocket gun...).
Seems way too blocky though. How do you people carry this thing?

Should have tried a P3AT, but it's about the size of my wallet, and I know that fits. Plus, I could clip it to the inside of my pants.

I wear 32" Levi 550s (with a belt!). There was no way I would carry any of those guns in a pocket. They're just too big. Add a pocket holster, and NO WAY.

So how do you people do carry "pocket" guns?
Wear baggy pants? Cargo pockets?
IWB holster/pocket clip/SmartCarry/other?

lol 32''. i remember those days. . . .in 6th grade :( . try the "homie jeans" not to be deragatory thats just their nick-name by me. tommy hilfigure and the like. they are mainly stove pipe in teh leg, meaning they dont taper toward teh ankle. i find they have much more pocket room and still look pretty sharp.

Anybody who's anybody wears only Royal Robbins 5.11 Tactical pants! :neener:

That said, I've nevar had a problem hiding a Beretta 950 in whatever I'm wearing!

I'm curious about this too. I see all kinds of posts of folks swearing they put Glocks in their pocket (sorry, there ain't a Glock made that would fit in a normal jean pocket with a pocket holster, and I know you aren't dumb enough to not use a holster with a Glock). Even the revolvers, for me, are too large to use as a "pocket gun", unless you're talking about a coat pocket. I just picked up a Kel-Tec 3AT and I think it is about the largest I'd want to put in a pocket, and it's small. A DeSantis Nemsis holster and the 3AT still prints somewhat in Dockers. Can't imagine shoving a Kahr in there.

When wearing my Dockers, and similar type slacks, I have no problem carrying a 642 in my front pants pocket.

It's not comfortable carrying that way when I'm wearing my Lee jeans ... especially if I'm riding my motorcycle.

When I speak of 'pocket carry', in my case I generally mean some sort of jacket or coat pocket ... either an inside breast pocket or an outside pocket. If I'm on the bike, it's a zippered pocket, too.

I wear Wal Mart jeans I can carry my PPK/s or Colt Mustang in Don Hume pocket holsters. I have a old Charter Arms (Early 80's) that I can also carry in Uncle mikes .

I have worn jeans with a PPK or S&W 642 in the front pocket. I believe it prints more and is fairly hard to draw. I usually wear LL Bean, Cabelas, and yes, 5.11 pants. The legs are cut fuller and the pockets are big and deep. The draw is much faster and with a pocket holster the gun barely prints if at all. I recently requalified from my right front pocket with both my BUGs and had no problem getting my rounds off in time. I'm pretty sure I couldn't do that wearing tighter jeans. Obviously it depends on your build and the cut and fit of your pants.

BDUs from the surplus store, ALL THE TIME (my fiance hates them). I carry a Taurus 651 in an Uncle Mikes #3 in the right front pocket. One of the obvious keys to pocket carry is to have nothing else in the pocket, but the gun and holster; no change, no keys, no gum. Extra stuff just adds bulk. I have also found it beneficial to occasionally have an extra inch or so added onto the bottom of my pockets. This gives a little extra depth, which puts the grip deeper in the pocket, very important for some types of dress pants.

Khakis. Colt Gov't 380 rides in there just fine. Heck, I can even put my Kimber Ultra carry in the front pocket.

Never could carry either in jeans. I have lots of shorts that are baggier that work well too.

If I wear jeans (which is seldom), then I can also wear a baggy T-shirt, and go IWB.

However, my normal work attire of "docker style" pants, and my casual off-work shorts allow me to carry a PM9 in a Desantis Nemesis pocket holster with no difficulty. I can also carry the PM9 in the pocket when wearing a suit, but that is only for funerals and such.

32 waist! My diaper was a 34!

I wear "relaxed fit" jeans and for those who have never tried a pair the most comfortable jeans to wear are Diamond Gusset jeans. I can easily carry a 342 in a Andrews pocket holster in mine.

As the old joke goes, ya know why a tight pair of pants are like a cheap hotel? There ain't no b@11room. :D

There is an old truism -- if you carry concealed, you must adjust your wardrobe. I mostly wear Wranglers (Levi Strauss and Company supports anti-gun organizations) and buy them on the large size, with room in the waistband for my M1911.

When I carry my Colt Detective Special, it simply slides into a pocket with no fuss and no bother.

Cabela's 7-pocket pants.

Getting ready to pick up a Kimber Ultra CDP to use in the pocket on those.

I wear jean pants and shorts and occasionally Docker shorts. The Kel-Tec P3AT fits nicely in the back right pocket in a Uncle Mikes pocket holster. Spare mag goes in left front pocket.

bigger size

Try a pair of 33"s, they may be a little large, use a belt or get an IWB to put in there. Also I believe the 560 Levi's are more of a loose fit. These are options that aren't for chasing a prospective partner around, you have to change your wardrobe slightly. Pleated Dockers or khakis are good also. Pleated gives more room and the lines break up some minor "printing". I have three different carry choices with a couple holster for each, depending on my attire that day. You have to experiment a little. Long untucked shirts are best or golf pull over wind breakers are great also. The golf wind breakers are baggy and the nylon of some of the manufacturers is a little thicker or treated any hides holsters well. Hope this helps.

Relatively loose fitting khakis.

Gotta have the pocket on the seam. In other words, straight up, not cut at an angle. Hides the grip better.

Pleats help to provide extra fabric so gear in pockets doesn't print. Starting clockwise, front right: gun in pocket holster. RR: 1x Comp 1 speedloader and 2x Speed Strips. LR: pocket knife with two Photon micro lights attached; butane lighter (I don't smoke). LF: 9Z light and pepper spray. Clipped to waistband under belt: Sypderco Delica. If you clip it right, no one will ever see it, but it's the only part of the gear that shows at all. Cellphone may be clipped to belt or in a pocket, depending on clothes. Wallet...in shirt or coat pocket. IMO the e-gear should never change location, and should never be mixed in with other stuff that would get in the way of speedy deployment should defensive need arise.

waist is 34, wear 36's. baggy in the butt, but im not trolling anyway. if loose pants are mentioned, i say that willy needs more room. have had no further discussion about my pants. works for pocket and IWB carry.
