How many guns do you carry and why?

It really seems absurd for me, a civilian, to carry more than one shooter and one stabber.
I don't even know where they would fit on me.
And I live in the most dangerous part of my city.
pocket knife in the left pocket. .38 snub in the right.
extra clips and an 8 inch knife for the mountains.

Polish P-64 9x18mm reverse carried on the left side (I'm a lefty and do a cavalry draw). The gun holds 7 rounds, and I don't carry an extra mag. If I'm in my car, I also have access to a Ruger P90. Huge, bulky gun, but it's never jammed on me so it's my car gun. I just don't have any other real use for it.

On rare occasions, I might open carry a larger pistol in addition to my P-64. This pistol is almost always a Romanian Tokarev, with 2 8-round magazines and a compensator. It's amazingly lightweight for its size, and carries well. Its accuracy, reliability, power, and weight make it a good choice. And if I ever have to draw it, there's also the pucker factor that comes from a person pulling out a hand cannon.

Just one for me. I carry my Smith 442 everyday. I have other choices but love carrying the little S&W. I do carry a Bianchi speed strip with five extra rounds and my streamlight scorpion with me.

I always carry one pistol strong side, a folding knife in my front right pocket, good light in my left front pocket (novatac 120t for now). Any more gear than that goes in the man-bag. usually always a spare mag, knife and light, and when my wife and I are out together, the extra pistol goes in there as well.

I carry both pistols because I like to have a backup and should the situation arise, Mama Bear can grab the other gear and get in the fight. Also, there have been some break ins around here and I don't want my stuff stolen!

Also, we have a pair of xds that use the same mags, ammo and have the same controls. That way, when one weapon was learned, both were. Same for the flashlights; same operations setup.

And really, the knife is used most, the light a close second and the guns (thank God!) only at the range! Be safe!

As my previous reply was so brief, I wanted to add that one big reason I carry two is that I want access options, and am largely ambidextrous, anyway. (I am more of a lefty than "rightie," yet carry "primary" on the right hip.) If attacked on one side, I can throw up a block or guard with the arm/hand on that side, and access a weapon with the opposite hand.

A lesser reason, but still important: I can spread the considerable weight of two SP101 snubbies, or an Al-alloy-frame SIG P229 and an SP101, across a wider area, for greater comfort than carrying one larger steel weapon at one point on the hip.

I notice plenty of folks say they carry a knife on the side opposite their one gun, and there is nothing wrong with that; I think it is a good idea. I do it myself. But, having actually trained to deploy a knife in force-on-force conditions, I am more comfortable with the idea of pulling a gun with the "off-side" hand than trying to deploy and open a folder. One exercise during one seminar showed us just how likely we are to flub even well-practiced knife presentation when placed under some stressful pressure.

In the past, I carried a stout fixed-blade knife knife as secondary to the handgun, on the side opposite the handgun. I do consider a good fixed-blade knife to be the full equal of a handgun at touching distance, if the user is well-practiced. When I have more time to train, and locate another good training partner, I may well go back to carrying a fixed blade rather than the second gun. (Yes, legal in my area.)

2

a xd45acp
and a
keltec 380 in a wallet holster

why

1 reason is the wallet holster is easy to cary when i might have to leave the 45 in the truck do to cloths that might let it be seen /

and the wallet holster is a a shoot through but not an AOW

bad guy wants my wallet he may get more then the wallet

and yes i have a letter From ATF saying it is NOT an AOW HOLSTER
