Does that cut down through the steel creating a rust risk (calling for a clear ceracoat to maintain it)
It does cut into the steel. I would think that a clear coat would be needed.Does that cut down through the steel creating a rust risk (calling for a clear ceracoat to maintain it)
I’m not sure what format he’s using. What is the format of the "base file" that contains the artwork or pattern?
If he can tell you what that is, then maybe you can supply your own artwork that he can then engrave onto your Glock slide.
Actually, they favorite the charro style of engraving, and it has to be done by hand. Not by machine.Talk about lipstick on a pig…
Should go down well with the cartels I guess.

You learn a lot about cartels having grown up in Juaritos.
The graphics would not be difficult, as Brandon points out, it's the translating them into the CAM file the engraver uses (and those do tend to vary).I’ve thought about having a Marine Eagle, globe and anchor engraved on the slide of one of my Glocks.
my thoughts too! to each their own ….but…Talk about lipstick on a pig…

When I have him do the engraving on my 458 Socom, I just gave him the picture of Bullet Bill and told him the size and type of font I wanted. He’s been doing laser engraving for around 4 years now.The graphics would not be difficult, as Brandon points out, it's the translating them into the CAM file the engraver uses (and those do tend to vary).

You just get both the slide and frame laser engraved.I have seen quite a few Glock slides that have been laser engraved or electro-etched. Some look great while others not so much. The same goes with sipping jobs on Glock frames. Some stippling jobs look great while others do not.
I do like how others customize their pistols and they do turn out good if the stippling, laser engraving/electro-etching is all done well.

I dunno, gotta find the thermometer, must have a fever... that 19X slide is actually growing on me... must resist...
I am the world's biggest sucker for engraving on handguns, especially S&W revolvers, Colt 1911s. I'd do well undercover in a cartel (if I only spoke Spanish).
@LimaCharlie - can you tell us who did the engraving on your Python (not meaning to derail your thread, Gunny!)?
Engraving is not for everyone. Not something I would do on a carry gun.
