I have the ugliest gun ever

Borish..

I am aware of the trigger reset..but i can still pull the hammer back on my sig, or if i just emptied a mag..it comes "pre pulled"..also after chambering a round..and the sig has a trigger re-set that makes the single action even a tad better yet.

And its true sig isnt what it used to be..but as i have said before...problems with the 238 and 250 (and a few isolated runs of the older models)...its still one of the best guns for the money. Even glock has had a few bad runs that produced lemons...every company does. Its just so unheard of for sig to do that everyone is jumping on the "look sigs have gone down hill" band wagon, when in reality..they have just dropped to the level of pretty much all the other manufacturers out there and join the ranks of companies with a few bad runs and bad models.

Same thing has happend with my beloved kimber..and it happend with S&Ws Gen 3 if you ask me (much preferred the Gen 2 weapons) etc etc.

However..

i am actually a fan of the Glock 19...just not the one i owned in particular. A fried of mine swears by his Glock 23 (thats the ..40 version of the 19 right?)..and i am considering a glock 26 myself..but, i still kinda hate them ANYWAY..lol

The problem I had with the Sig P226 is it is +$800. I payed $300 for my brand new in the box G17.

LOL. Personally, I do not like the looks of Glocks. That being said, still would not want to be shot by one. If it is a good fit for you, then who cares how it looks. I'd rather live with an ugly gun than die with a pretty one that I could not shoot accurately.

Well, to all the ladies that answered about if it's ugly or not, Who the hell cares?
Does it shoot straight? Is it reliable? Do you like it? If the answer is yes to those questions, does it really matter if it's pretty?

Meant only half jokingly.

"Does it shoot straight"

And there in lies my issue with them. I can shoot way better with a sig and better yet still than a sig with a 1911. (due to the afforementioned trigger)

Could I defend myself with a glock at 25 yrds. H*ll yes. But there are other guns I shoot still better with. Why not give yourself the best weapon for you that you can. ($ being not the issue....800 I could do. If I were richer I'd carry a custom gun or a $5,000 sig p210 and be glad I did if the shtf.

A couple pay checks are easier to come back from the a serious internal injury.

That said. I still think the glocks 19, 26, 23 and 27 fit the bill for MANY. Horrrible triggers aside they are rugged and simple to get into action. Often times that means more than accuracy and being a crack shot (if your up close n personal and in a state of panic), it's just not the logic I go with when choosing a weapon.

It's great we have such great choices. But they are still ugly. I'd pick a Glock over a hi point for a stash gun ANY DAY.

I like the looks of Glocks. There aren't too many really ugly ones except for the High Points and the Fixed up Taurus' that have various colors (Gold, Pearl, pink, etc).

Honestly, the only looks that are truly important to me are the sights and the target.

The target I posted was at 10 yards. That was the last ten rounds of the 100 I shot that day. Before than I had never shot anything but a .22. Heck before March of this year I had never handled a gun. I think my Glock is a good target gun. With my daughters medical issues $800 is just to much for me right now. That's why I shoot .22s they are cheap to shoot.

LOLOLOL--Eh.

From the side, they ain't the most charismatice pistol known to man. From the back, they look fine. From the front, they look REALLY BAD. And that's what I'm lookin for.

"Glocks are hideously ugly, they always have been."

That's part of the Glock "Perfection"...no extra charge for that...lol.. ;)

Ahh, yes... The more money we spend, the better the gun shoots... right...
I'd rather spend $398 on a Glock, (or whatever your price would be) buy a bunch of ammo, and pocket the difference...and still be well prepared for those situations...:) Even if I were richer...

Your sarcastic response about a more expensive HAVING to shoot better is...

Totally valid..haha. You gotta good point! :neener:

Ill still always hate the glocks trigger though..and its just not the Glock. As i said there are several Taurus and Kel-tecs i have shot that were just as bad (to my perception).

Hey Allentown....seriously, I love the Glocks...but you would never hear me bragging on their triggers, as far as how smooth they are/aren't...They have their shortcomings for sure, as does every other gun...but they work...Oh yeah...sorry if that came across sarcastic...not personal..I suppose there was a little in there...It's just that I got over thinking that I needed to spend tons of money on a gun to have a good one a long time ago. Not that I'm against more expensive guns...got a few...

Why don't you get it. Yes they are ugly and mediocre to shoot but they are rugged and run forever.

They are the Honda accord of the shooting world (not a fan of those either but people sure swear by them)

LOL Yup... they're ugly... their trigger sucks... you have to be careful what ammo you can shoot through 'em... their grip angle doesn't feel right... you have to be careful how you holster them... but... "perfection" is claimed... and the sheeple are swallowing their koolaid by the bucket full. Yeah... I tried one once, it felt cheap in my hands, the trigger felt like a cheap toy, and the grip angle made it awkward to hit the target accurately. No thank you... life is too short.

Now beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. I equate old "ugly" guns to older women!! When you reach for them, being very experienced, they will give all you could ask for!!!!

This old sweetie was found in a barn in Snohomish County, WA. when they tore the barn down, this Union Swith & Signal was found. It had fallen between two walls and had lain there for many years. Luckily, it was full of grease so the insides were perfect, and it shoots like a dream....

I think she has the charm of an old, experienced lady with lots of life still left in her. And, she will do whatever you ask.... -------------:)

Ratdog...I thought the same thing when I first shot one...totally out-of-sync...but it grew on me. They're definitely not for everyone. But then...no gun is.

This thread has taken a funny turn. So because I like my new gun, have shot a few hundred rounds through it and don't hate it. I am drinking the kool aid. That's funny right there. Funny, guys hate Glocks because they are "plastic". Does that mean those same people hate the car/ truck they drive? They are more "plastic" than they were 50 years ago or are you all still driving 1960s trucks around? This thread is funny as can be.

...you have to be careful how you holster them...

I'm afraid you have to do that will all guns my friend.

What I find funny is that some of the reasons people hate glocks are the reasons I like them. To each his own.
