I really want a Glock 43x, talk me out out of it!

As many have said if one is not appendix carrying, I see no point to the 43x over the 48.

Because you likely don’t carry OWB. If you did, you might see point in not having random people see the muzzle of your gun peeking out from under your shirt. And before you say it, yes, I know I could buy longer shirts. I just chose to buy a shorter gun.

Sights are an easy fix on anything that allows them to be changed. The Glock factory sights work fine, but if you have to search around for something to bitch about, have at it. :D

I normally put three-dot night sights on most of my handguns, if I can get them on there. And fro Glocks, thats an easy fix.

I actually put on Wilson Combat with Gold dot front.

I predominantly carry OWB... I'm not a tall guy, and I do not wear oversized shirts. I'm able to OWB carry in using a De Santis pancake holster without issue. They're usually canted therefore reducing the lenth muzzle/holster vertically. I'll admit that I may print if I reach up or bend over at the waste, but that still happen whether I'm carrying a G43 or G48 sized pistol...

I just stick it in an AIWB (or in the past, an IWB) holster and into my pants, and I can actually tuck my shirt to boot. And thats with a 17. Nothing shows.

As well as it works, Im not usually a "tuck" kind of guy though. :)

As the title states, I want a 43x!

Have any of you had experience with it? What are your thoughts?
I own 9 Glocks, prior to buying the G-43X
I was thinking about not buying it as I just got a customized G-19 from Tactical Solutions and am thrilled with it .
So the G-43X was a minor consideration,UNTIL handling my friends G-48,
I already own and shoot the G-43 ,so imagine my thoughts coming to the conclusion that I needed a G-48 ----------- then going to the gun shop and handling the G-43X and buying that on the spot.
Went right to the range and shot 50 rounds of ball and 20 rounds of GDHP +P.
I have been wearing it for the past 3 days and LOVE it.
Easire to conceal,21 rounds available [ yes of course at least 1 spare mag, another inbound ].
Its your dollar AND your ergonomics.
Good luck,now I have 10 Glocks.

p365 vs m11A1 size comparison:

I just got my 12 and 15 rnd p365 magazines in, the 12 rnd is maybe 1/8 " longer than what you see with the pinky extension:

Pros for the Sig:
- The texture is a lot better
- The trigger is a lot better
- The sights are a lot better
- It's smaller, a smaller overall size, not weight
- Its gonna hold more rounds

This gun is not as good, not nearly as good as the p365 ...

btw I have Glocks, I have a box of Glocks, put them in the box when I switched to Sigs 15 years ago. Still rock my 30 occasionally ...

And I am on the other end of that spectrum
I just had to get a P365 right after buying and doing my T&E on the G-43.
I actually own now 2 P365's as I was prepared to LOVE them and edc both of them together.
I keep them both VERY close = in my safe after doing well over 300 rounds through the first one.
I hate the grip angle, not fond of the extra weight [ not balanced for my hand ] and it just plains feel blocky.
On the other hand the G-43 and the G-43X are very comfy to wear for protracted periods of time.
the P365 is a great shooter and has a very good out of box trigger, and I really ,REALLY wanted to love them = sadly I do not.
As stated ,it all ergonomics and what fits YOU ------ and you alone.

LOL we ARE the opposite, I traded in my Glocks for Sigs after I bought a Sig p229 and shot it beside the Glock 31 I had been shooting and my POI instantly went on-target with the Sig. The Ergonomics matched the S&W revolvers and 1911's I was shooting and was used to. If you only shoot Glocks you can probably adapt but if you shoot various other guns with regularity, IMHO the ergonomics throw you off.

I gave my Glock 43 to my SIL. It was a really nice little gun, but I prefer a bit higher capacity. Bought a 43x and really like it; the greater capacity makes it the better choice - for me.
Have to say, my Missus bought me a P365 for Father's Day - and I really like it too!!!!

Guess I will disagree slightly.
I have been CCW'ing since ,well over 40 years.
And I have carried just about every modern made pistol that I can recall.
I once was a HUGE fan of the 1911's.
Then became an LEO and had to carry a wheel gun [ model 10 then model 581 ].
I sill carried a 1911 off duty, until we went to the wonder 9's,then to the 40's.
I carried a S&W semi auto for most of my decades on the job,BUT my choice became a Glock 23 for about 25 years.
So its not the gun you just happen to dance with, its what YOU shoot & carry well.
btw ,I own approx. 60 pistols so there are options.

I have a lot of different Glocks to choose from. My daily carry gun is a G43X, and I find that I am as proficient with that model as I am with any other pistol. In fact, I was just marveling yesterday after a range session at how pleased I am with the G43X, especially when I was not originally a fan of the G43.

A few others have said this but I just can't find a niche the 43X or 48 fills that my 26 doesn't already cover and (also as others have said) my 26 will accept 19 magazines.

I can carry a 43X in a cargo pocket instead of the 26 due to weight. I also shoot the 43X better than the 26 (Gen4).

Got one for p365, don't think it will work as well for a 43x:

I agree with the user that said the G26 is the sweet spot.

I still cant understand the need for these newer G19 sized single stacks. There ARE 10rd mags for a G19 for those that live in restricted states.

I carry a G26 with a 12rd mag year round. To me it carries like a bobbed G19 with a couple less rounds.

Easy to conceal and shoots like my G17.

Personally I dont get this whole deal where folks are worried about a few hundreds/thousandths of an inch in one direction or another.

Do you carry IWB? The difference between of 0.2” is definitely noticeable day in and day out. Not that it’s a deal killer, but if I had my druthers and could shoot them equally I would take the 1.0” versus the 1.2”.

That is where these stack and a half guns like the Sig P365/XL and the G43x/48 are intriguing to me. Anything less than 1.0” and I find myself wanting to put on a hogue grip to shoot them well, so it defeats the purpose.

And the different dimensions provide the necessary reasoning for justifying another purchase. :D

I kind of have a G43x, but not really. I have a G43 and a G48 and can swap the slides around to have a G43x and a G43 long slide if desired. Configured in the G43x fashion I noticed that I'm just a little quicker on target. All in all work keeps me married to the Glock platform as we are a Glock department. It doesn't really do anything different than it's other 9mm siblings in the safe.

I normally carry OWB the majority of the time but I have and still do occassionally carry IWB.

A few hundreds/thousandths has never bothered me one way or the other. Its simply not noticeable.

It's my understanding that the neuter Glock 19 magazines have issues. I personally have no interest in either a 43x or a 48 but if I was restricted to 10 Rounds I would rather have a gun with a magazine designed to hold 10 Rounds than a gun with a magazine that had to be blocked or doctored told only 10 Rounds

It's not hard to understand. The 43X and the 48 are both slimier and lighter then the G19. Some say that it's not much, but when it comes to carrying a gun concealed all day, every little bit counts.
I have never been a fan of the G26. It's just that I don't care for short stubby grips on a handgun. But when it comes right down to it personal preference will be the deciding factor for most people.
