Is it so wrong to want a Lady Smith?

Well, I don't know about anyone else, but I walked into the gun shop about 2 weeks ago and saw a S&W 65 LS .357 3.5" in the case. I had just told the wife that I didn't buy guns cause they were pretty, I bought them so that when the BG looks at he either runs or pisses himself.

Needless to say, when I saw that gun and held it, I couldn't help to buy it at $300. And talk about a shooter. With .38 spl in her, the wife will sit and shoot her all day long. She really has a "blast" with it. She might even like it more than her Ruger P95.

BUT !! When you put those .357 through her....:what: BOY !!! She barks like there is no tomorrow... and you talk about a flame thrower... WOOOSHHH!! I had to put rubber grips on in place of the pretty wood just to keep the sting down. I'll tell ya.... it might say Lady on the side, but when that thing goes off, no BG's gonna care when that .357 slug hits them. I like it so much, I might be looking for another one. :D

I had one about 10 years ago. I had one S&W J-frame on layaway and when I went to pick it up the had sold it accidently so I wound up getting a Ladysmith cheap. Nice shooting gun but I did get a few comments from my co-workers but what the hell I am "manly" enough that it didn't bother me. I did ditch the rosewood grips pronto though!

The only thing that would make me reconsider is if it was too small for my hand, but even that's nothing a different set of grips wouldn't take care of. In fact, I've been keeping my eyes peeled for a nice 65LS for myself, and I'm a masculine kind of guy.

Get a pink handle for it too. Look at it this way if you have to shoot someone, and they show a jury a gun with a pink handle that says lady smith on it. They might think youre strange, but it sure isnt evil and scary.

I wouldn't doubt a second in getting one if it had caracteristics I was looking for, it fitted my hand well, and I could shoot efectively with it. Not all guns we like will shoot well in our hands, not all guns we hate will shoot poorly for us.

Just think of a Lady Smith as your "secondary" female companion. If you don't have a primary female companion, that is a human one, I suggest you start spending more time on finding one, and less time worrying about what is printed on your pistola ;)

My Hungarian Hi-power is named Zsa-Zsa. I would have no problem with a ladysmith. In fact I have always loved the 3913 ladysmiths. The lines are much better than the standard 3913.

I bought a Mod 60 - 2 1/8" LS last weekend... i wanted a revolver, preferably 357, with some meat and potatos feel.. those 340 and 360's aren't for me... I was ready to buy a 637 or 642 in 38 +p when i saw this revolver in the used gun case... after a thorough look-over, as far as i can tell, it maybe had only a couple of cylinders full of rounds put through it... It was clean as a whistle inside and out... and was about 200 bucks under asking price of a new one... so the poor aluminum frames got over-ruled...

I didn't think i'd care for them but I like the wood grips... not too bad to shoot with in all honesty and a non issue with light plinkin rounds... need to see if i can find some rubber grips in the same config and size at the wood ones fit my hands almost perfectly and then full boat 357's will be just peachy in this thing...

I did clean up the rebound slide and an undercut in the trigger where the hammer rolls over in single action... it could really benefit from a lighter rebounds spring in all honesty.... DA isn't too bad but not nearly as nice as my 686...

No one has given me much grief over the engraving.. and if i get to it i'll just take it off of there... not that it matters...
