As I knew would happen eventually I bent my decapping pin, but I've never had to replace one on a lee die before. Are the Lee universal decapping die pins the same as the handgun decapping pins for Lee handgun dies? Any leads on the cheapest place to pick a pack up? I can get RCBS decapping pins 20$ for 50, but I can't find Lee cheaper than 8$ a piece.

+1 for getting your question answered.

FWIW I ordered some of these pins for the day I booger up the factory pin in my universal Lee decapping die based on reviews and web searches. I haven't had reason to test them yet. Less than $7 each

Here's a 3 pack of Lee pins (SKU number = handgun die pin part) for way less than $8 each.

I can't imagine a reason for me to have 50 RCBS decapping pins on hand but looks comparable to Lee's single pin price of $2 each for handgun die parts when in stock.

MidwayUsa shows $2.99 each and currently in stock.

Even CTD shows $1.98 each and in stock.

Optics Planet $2.19 each and in stock

I see Amazon has a current price of $8.07 each for whatever unfathomable reason but Amazon isn't the only place available to purchase these from unless you specifically restrict your merchant choices to Amazon.

camelcamelcamel shows an absolutely bizarre price history for this item on Amazon.o_O

Thanks, I was going to call lee but after spending over an hour on hold with RCBS yesterday before getting a person on the line...

My searching skills obviously leave something to be desired, just need to fill a cart with enough for free shipping. Thanks!

My Google search term included the Lee Precision SKU number 90027 FWIW

I really like the pins from Squirrel Daddy, tougher than the Lee ones

This has been my experience also. I got a pack of 3 and haven't needed to buy anymore...I have two universal decapping dies; so I have one extra.

Lee replaced the decapping pins that I bent. You could mail yours in for an exchange or pay shipping for the ones they sent you...I just got extras. After bending the 5th pin, I went with the Squirrel Daddy ones and haven't needed to replace a pin since...maybe I just became more skilled

Does anyone know if the Lee universal pin (90783) is the same size as the pistol decapper (90027)?

Don't have both on hand but as I recall the Universal decapper one is a bit longer.
The universal will work in a pistol die, and I believe the pistol one will work in the universal die.
(warning - I am getting senile in my old age so I might be imagining the above;))

Lee will send you one. (you may have to pay shipping)
You can take a picture of yours and submit an online request if you don't want to call.

Thanks!
Never heard of them before.

I think most everybody who has tried the Squirrel Daddy pins has been happy with them.
Can't ever recall seeing any complaints about them.

May be available if the Lee pins are out of stock.

The way it was explained to me was "three times the cost for 10 times the durability." I bought a 3 pack of Lee pins and bent them all between 5-10k. I replaced the last with a squirrel Daddy and haven't bent one yet.
