I would have never guessed that 7.62x54R would be leading the pack.

Of course the main battle round of back to back world war champions, the United States was omitted from the poll. The .30-06, made famous in the 1903, the 1903A3, the 1917, the BAR, the Browning machine gun, and the M1 rifle. The rifle carried by American soldiers at Belleau Wood, Guadalcanal, Omaha Beach, Iwo Jima......wasnt there, so the 7.62x54R is winning :(

Cheap mosins that fire the round make non milsurp enthusiast into milsurp owners.

Only omitted because thanks to Beenbags thread we already know 80%+ of THR members have one, lol! USA USA!!!

Does an M39 Finn in 7.62x53R count as a 7.62x54R?

I gave my old 1944 dated Soviet M44 to an evacuee that was headed home unarmed after Harvey. The M39 is now my only Mosin.

Also, does a 6.5x55 Norwegian Krag–Jørgensen count as a "6.5x55 Swede Mauser"?

Mind you I don't have one (yet), but only because I haven't found an example where price, condition and location were all favorable for acquisition.
