Ordered 6 cans on-line (For $172) Sat mid-day after striking out a 7 Walmarts. I build guns with fast twist match grade barrels and I like practice fodder with similar POI to match grade. Now who exactly is telling me to "settle down"?

Mike
I am, LOL! :neener: You didn't read the post friend. I said contact congressmen, write letters to BATF, but don't pay high prices for this ammo. If you build rifles with fast twist rates, you can reload your own ammo using a 62 grain projectile with a lead core. You can get 1000 bullets for right around $100 (as of last night) and the final price is going to be less than M855.

The people on the other side are smart and this proves it. Not only do you ban another type of ammunition, but maybe you cause a buying panic on M855 and .223 as a whole as well. A nice one two punch by the antis. As states before contact those who represent you in the nations capitol. And don't let the antis help is destroy ourselves with another panic buy.:banghead:

For me the round is not the issue. What bothers me is the simple declaration of the green type being evil and prohibited. I am sure this is the issue with most people.

Sure it was cheap and performed Ok, not good, but that is neither here nor there.

What about typical body armor? Penetration of green tip is a moot point. My dads hunting rifle will penetrate that like butter. Eventually that may be on the chopping block with green tip as a precedent for it.

On another note what about a nice hot loaded 45/70 or 50 cal whisper? I imagine a cast lead 900g 1050 fps projectile could cause some interesting trauma without penetrating anything lol. Consider simple power level as being an issue. 338 lapua or maybe one of the mainstream ultramag rounds, you know elk hunter specials. Using a common match bullet like the sierra matchking or a bonded hunting bullet, I imagine they have an interesting effect on armor...

UK regulates Energy levels of their air guns. Wouldn't want to shoot your eye out.

My buddy is cop. He worries about things penetrating his vest on duty. You know what caliber he worries about most? Knives. Knives eat his issued soft armor alive...

There is a pistol available in nearly every "rifle" caliber you will ever find on the department-store ammo shelf.

If the law of the land says its illegal if it can penetrate Level II body armor when fired from a pistol, this is just the first ka-clink in runaway roller-coaster ride.

Push back.

Push back HARD.

The ATF once considered that the ammo had to be "usable" in a handgun that was designed to be "carried and concealable"... that just evaporated into thin air because AR pistols do not meet this standard.

This new framework has been fashioned to provide the means to a predetermined end, it appears.

Heck I can get a barrel on my encore pistol that will let me fire 50 BMG pulled bullets. Illegal or legal or whatever, it is possible, so they better make a law banning those projectiles too. Uh oh right? Same pistol can put out 308 bonded bullets with authority as well. Maybe they meet whatever the criteria BATF decides constitutes AP performance this week.

I am not one to buy the slippery slope argument in most cases, but I guarantee the BATF realizes a piecemeal inch at a time approach is doable...

DEFINITELY a scary bit of legislation in my opinion.

^^^^
Anyone who doesn't "buy into the slippery slope argument" is simply not paying attention. We live in a society that thrives on a one week news cycle. Pay attention to any particular thing longer than that, you'll see the slope. Not just gun issues, either.

Oddly enough is covered under the ATF order, lol.

If thats all there were, we'd be OK.
It is a pocket pistol. That puts it into the automatic pistol category per the ATF.
Remember to thank Heizer for their valuable contribution.
And ask them who paid them to market that pistol - Was it a Mr. Michael Bloomberg, by chance?

Will they release a 30-06 pocket pistol and a 50 BMG pocket pistol next? Might as well! Then, with 30-06 AP and 50 BMG AP rounds off the market, they can be truly proud of themselves.
