I’ve got to echo ATLDave’s and WVsig’s words. I own and shoot multiple Sigs, a Betetta, a few HK’s, two Dan Wesson 1911’s, and a SA. The CZ Shadow 2 is hands down my most fun gun to shoot.

They’re worth every penny, in fact I’m possibly going to pick up a second one but may go for a TSO instead. I don’t really need two Shadows.

Same here, but I want a Shadow 2 SA to go along with my current Shadow 2

I love a BHP but it is SAO gun not a DA/SA. One of the downsides to the CZ75 variants is if you want to shoot them DA/SA for a lot of them you are going to have to lower the hammer manually because there is no decocker. That said if I was looking for a true all steel DA/SA gun that is good to go right out of the box you cannot beat the CZ Shadow 2. You can get them under $1000 if you know where to look.

I missed where he mentioned looking for DA/SA. That said, it's only the first trigger pull that gets you the DA name, all the rest are SA. It's all about how you want to carry the pistol, IMO. The DA/SA usually has a decocker/hammer block safety, so it's fine to carry one in the pipe with the hammer down. If you're used to carrying a 1911 or BHP, you're carrying Condition 1 and get the same benefit, without two different trigger pulls.

The only DA/SA pistol I ever had was a S&W 459. I didn't care for the long first pull at all and sold it after a few years, although otherwise it was a nice pistol.

I voted Beretta 92 because I like the longer barrel but I have a 226 also, both are iconic handguns. Don't have any experience with the CZ.

However I like a HK USP over all the rest.

I spent alot of time searching for an all-metal handgun, the choices were between the Beretta 92G series, CZ compact, Browning Hi Power, S&W 5903, Sig P226 and P229. I ended up buying a lightly used P229 for < $600. That thing is a smooth shooter and scary accurate too.

I have CZ’s, 1911’s and SAA’s - I do not own any polymer handguns (btw, nothing wrong with polymer handguns). My hand/ arm like the heft of steel (old school); steel is the real deal (huh look at me, I just made that up)!

Of your list (I have all those myself), CZ75.

If you have gorilla hands, you might prefer the Sig or the Beretta, but every shooter I’ve taken to the range - men & women - has preferred the CZ75 when I’ve had my collection of iconic 9mm’s there. Ergonomics are fantastic.

Not that long ago, few even knew the CZ existed. But for an all metal nine SA/DA I do like my CZ 75B - pre omega trigger. I have the P-07 (has some polymer in it) and the RAMI (aluminum frame) and they are all a joy to shoot, although I fare much better with the 75B. Alternatively, and not meeting your specifications, would be a nice Ruger/Colt/S&W/Dan Wesson revolver. That covers the bases as to DA/SA and all metal.

all the CZ talk make me want to buy another one , I have even thought of selling off my glocks and going all CZ , but the one thing is glock is so easy to work on if ever needed , CZ's are roll pins but they are sweet pistols
this is mine

That’s the exact one I’ve been thinking about getting. They have the urban gray suppressor ready SP01 for the same price too. Having a tough time deciding.

Three really good choices. I've shot all 3 but the sig226 was out of my price range at that time so it was a toss up between the Beretta and CZ. They had a sale on the M9A1 beretta for $459. I couldn't pass it up. It's been dead reliable after 400 rounds so far and couldn't be happier. Good luck with your choice. Honestly I don't think you can go wrong with any of your choices.

Having shot all the options for mid size hand CZ's are just optimum. When no size issue to address any other option is a fine election.

BHP
S&W 5906
CZ85

I have a Sig P229, which IIRC is a P226 that is just a tiny bit smaller. It's an excellent pistol. The high quality is obvious and the trigger is great.

My CZ75 variants are my favorite service pistols. My FiL liked my first one so much that he bought himself one. They fit our large hands very well.

I have two Beretta 92 variants. I like them. They are big, which is good for me. The DA trigger is nothing to boast about, but they are good shooters.

My 9mm 1911's are nice pistols and fun to shoot, if SAO would be okay.

My Hi Power is a Hungarian copy. It's accurate and reliable. It balances well and fits my hands well, but my eyes are getting too old for the tiny sights.

From your list my fave is the CZ75, any flavor, but especially the PCR or P01. Just about the perfect all-around size for duty and CCW, excellent ergonomics, and a sweet DA trigger. But for some reason I have more fun with my old bastardized S&W 5906.

My favorite is a 75 B in stainless. These are fantastic!!!! If you purchase a CZ you won't be disappointed.View attachment 896113

I have the same gun, the matte stainless is awesome, unfortunately they stopped production of the stainless models this year. I also have the 75 D PCR and it is an excellent shooter as well, with a decocker.

Every person that has shot either of my CZ's have instantly raved about them.
