Contect Senator Lott

Senator Lott - "Talk radio" is not "running America". It's saying what we all think and believe. Nobody tunes in to radio to be told what to think... they tune in to hear the truth, or at least what they agree with.

You say that talk hosts don't know what's in the Senate amnesty bill... well, at 600+ pages, you don't, either. Nobody does.

This bill legalizes the 10, 12, 20 million illegals who are here now. That's amnesty. We already did that once before, in 1986. Look what it got us... millions upon millions more illegal aliens flooding into our country.

George Bush is wrong. The Republican Party is wrong. You've abandoned and betrayed your base constituency, and it's going to cost all of us... if a pro-amnesty Republican wins the nomination for President, we are going to have Hillary Clinton and/or Barack Obama running this country, and wind up with a large Democratic majority in the House and Senate.

The American people are telling you, loud and clear... we do not want amnesty. We want our border secured. We want the fence that was authorized last year to be built. We want enforcement. We want illegal aliens sent home. Then, and only then, will the American people consider allowing more immigration from Mexico and Central America.

Ignore us at your peril, Senator. Ignore us at the Party's peril, and ignore us at our contry's peril. This issue is going to hand control of this country to the Democrats.

I've written Lott a number of times. Don't expect anything positive. I just consider it to be covering the bases.

That said, Lott is one of the insiders. His allegiance is DC and not his constituents in MS. He was drummed out of a leadership position by some fancy footwork by Democrats. Now he turns back up in a leadership role. Who did he buy off and what was the price?

Great letter, jnojr! Everything you said is right on, but 'they' don't care what 'we' think. This attitude has cost the RNC my financial support. Yes, I'll vote for them still, as the lesser of two evils. I won't pay them to ignore me, though.

Steve

Good letter.
I never thought much of Lott when he was the majority leader. I thought he was a weak leader, and still have no respect for him.

The Republican party appears to have abandoned its base, and unless something changes between now and the 2008 election, I think the party will be suffer a large defeat. I hate to see Hillary or Obama in office, but it appears that the Rep are going to self destruct.
I won't vote for the front runners, so someone else will have to go the the front that more nearly reflects my own values.

This will be the first time I will have failed to vote in the presidential race, but I have no good option currently. I don't know what it will take for the Reps to get their act together, and return to the values they had in the Reagan years.
If some morally unfit, anti-gun person is to become president then I care not to which party they belong. Hope they learn something from the results.

Jerry

Your letter is spot on. I have written similar letters to the President, to my Governor, both Senators and my Representative.

I will be doing so again this week.

I read somewhere that a letter = 5 phone calls = 10 fax = many email. So I do all of them :)
