How about some movies that depict how bad things could get if guns were banned. The only one I can think of is demolition man.

future, preasent, past?

Though, there are likely few of such movies concidering the general position of the state from which most movies come from.

V for Vendetta

If you havent seen it, its an overall excellent study on what might happen in modern times if socialists take over. very interesting, and one of my favorites.

Demolition Man, with Sylvester Stallone, Sondra Bullock, and Wesley Snipes, comes to mind.

Can't remember for sure, but I think The Handmaiden's Tale, with Natasha Richardson & Robert Duvall, had those undertones.

How about THE TIME MACHINE (both versions)? Helpless, unarmed, but extremely attractive Eloi are daytime snacks for ravenous Morlocks.

In a different vein, how about the post-release transformation of guns to walkie-talkies in ET?

A world where heroic FBI men cannot terminate sinister alien scouts, is a world in which I don't want to live.

i just dont see a need for watching a movie where guns are banned

V for Vendetta and Demolition Man are set in the not too distant future, and show where the UK and US respectively are headed. Demolition man was a bit more comedic, but depicted a world of nanny government which dictated what you eat, tracked your movements, and had outlawed guns and four-letter words. Sly Stallone gets unfrozen from the past and turns the world on its ear.
V for Vendetta, on the other hand, was much more political. The Brits had gone totally authoritarian with government controlled media, civilian curfews, and of course, no guns.
Both movies are very impressive (to me, anyway) examples of where we could be heading as a society if we allow our guns to be taken. They show worlds of government that knows what is good for me and forces it upon me. They show societies where the citizens are fearful of their government instead of feared by their government. But both also have characters who revolt against the authority, have weapons, and refuse to live as a ward of the state. I recommend both.

Help me out. Saw a fictional movie years ago that was essentially a debate on the whole RKBA. IIRC, Pretty much everybody OC'd, And one guy, a Fonzie type, carried a pair of chromed revolvers. Only caught part of it in passing, and didn't know if it was balanced or a propaganda piece. Anybody have a clue?

Any movie that depicts the rise of Hilter, Mousolini, Stalin, Pol Pot, or just about any other fascist/commie tyrant over the last 100 years or so. Those monsters ALWAYS disarmed the people before slaughtering them.

Given Obama's rise to power, it's clear Americans do not know their history. They, like all that forget, will learn it the hard way.

One of the "Alien Nation" TV movies on Fox. It revolved around a conspiracy to assassinate a presidential candidate, one of whose campaign promises was to eliminate "easily concealable" handguns. Fortunately, a REAL alien landing seems more likely!

Sigourney Weaver is anti-gun and got flack for using guns in her Alien movies, so in Alien 3 there were no guns.

The movie was silly.

"Given Obama's rise to power, it's clear Americans do not know their history. They, like all that forget, will learn it the hard way"

To many people are just to eager to give up their rights
in this country for a little bit of "pork" , got some co-workers like that and i suggestet they should live a few years in Europe.

"The Unforgiven", with Clint Eastwood. the sheriff, Litlle Bill, banned guns in the town. his version of gun control was to beat the holy hell out of anyone he caught carrying.

Demolition Man, with Sylvester Stallone, Sondra Bullock, and Wesley Snipes, comes to mind.

Loved that film, even though it is so stupid.

Guns are banned, BUT .. wait for it .. the only place guns are kept in the city, in the museum, all the guns are kept LOADED and behind glass that can easily be shattered.

Lots of stupid fun in that film.

Sorta on topic

Watch Steven Speilbergs E.T. on a old VHS tape and then a new release on DVD. The guns carried by the cops in the original scenes where the bike flys overhead are erased and replaced with walkie talkies etc.
