Need action on concealed carry in National Parks

You're not going to see any updates until we can get some kind of substantive response from the relevant .gov people. It's only a matter of time now, but until we have something, we're not in a position to lobby or move forward because they will counter whatever we do or assert.

Be patient for now, they eventually must comply with FOIA. The response will be one of 3 things. 1: totally fabricated data. 2: no relevant data. 3: relevant but refutable data.

If you look back to the denial letter, chances are very likely that they have nothing, that they simply decided to do what they did because

"It's the government, we've done it this way for 20 years and we're not going to change now".

That, and we have Taylor-Goodrich - a true believer that will never be converted.

While everyone is clamoring for updates the time for action will come. When it does, we will need a LOT of motivation among pro gun BBS's, groups etc. That means all of us here mentioning it to our friends, neighbors, relatives, etc. and following up with them. We can't be the only ones contacting our elected officials, it has to be everyone we can get help from.

BTW, just a reminder that NRA-ILA said "We're working behind the scenes to make sure this gets done". A direct quote and quoted to several callers, emailers, mailers and members who asked.

WE MUST NOT rely on someone else to do this for us. "The Lord helps those who help themselves."

There's nothing active right now so I'd hold off until we have the information from them and when we have a "path forward".

You won't hurt anything, and you might explain that DOI is gaming us with the FOIA. Once we get the effort rolling forward again, be ready to man the phones.

Got it.

Bump and update!

in case you've missed the other thread on this, I got the FOIA data from NPS. I've scanned in the most relevant portions:
www.bighammer.net/timeline.html - click on the FOIA link at the top

Or

There's 3 large ones left that will have to be broken up. I tried doing a search online but have struck out soe they'll eventually have to get scanned but for now they can wait.

If you'd be able to help go through some of this, email me off my website.
