9x18 actually fires a .364" bullet vs .355 for the .380 (aka 9x17mm). Ballistics are similar, though, but typically the best loads in 9x19 are up there around 220 to 250 ft lbs where .380 is down around 180 to 200 range depending on load and barrel length. The 9x18 shoots a 95 grain plus or minus bullet weight which is similar. I'm carrying Silver Bear 94 grain JHP as a carry load at the moment and it's available for under 12 bucks a box. It is steel cased, berdan primed, non-reloadable, but works great. Hornady loads an XTP for 9x18, but it's weak, pretty much .380 equivalent.

I think, other than oddball guns like Hi Points, but let's put it this way, the 9x18 is the most powerful round DESIGNED for a blow back pistol application.

another Makarov fan, usually it's in a vest pocket w/a spare mag.
very lightly dressed (shorts and t) I pocket carry a Beretta .32acp Tomcat I like the tip-up barrel and of course 7 shot mag for 8 shots with one chambered. I consider it a 20' pistol and at that range I can hit grapefruit near everytime off hand standing. I like the sa/da function and the slide locking safety too. a very safe little pistol to carry w/a round chambered.

I had a LCP and did not like it. The grip was too small for my hand. I traded it in on a Sig P238 Equnox. I love this gun. Very accurate out of the box. Great sights. I would recommend it to you but it may be out of your price range and right now they are kind of hard to find. I was at Cabelas today and talked with a gun salesman. He said the minute one arrives it is only on display a few minutes and is sold.
I carry it in jean pockets in Uncle Mike #2 pocket holster.l Great combination.

We need to see it.

A bit offtopic here ... but why is it called a mousegun?

I understand the caliber consideration but err... a .380 is a bit overkill for a rodent.

Smith snub 38 special with +P, I like old school snub revolvers myself. 158 JHP or full WC would do nice
need allot of practice to hit anything but wont jam up hit harder than a 380.

LCP with Crimson Trace Laser Sights for Me

Just recently bought a Ruger LCP with the Crimson Trace laser sights and a deSantis Nemesis pocket holster and the combination works fine for me. No trouble getting it out of tight, shallow jeans pockets.

Looks like ruger copied kel-tec give me a lifetime and I will act surprised. but to the question asked the keltce 380 or 32 is nice and Keltec has a clip for them so it looks like a pocket knife in your fron't pocket. I am actually waiting to hear about a lawsuit unless ruger made a deal with keltec?? my pocket carry is a Beretta 32 acp i likey my 32

Just bought a P64 yesterday from here:
http://www.jgsales.com/product_info...-good-condition/cPath/16_385/products_id/2453

Never bought anything from them before, but they're off to a good start as they shipped it out yesterday afternoon. I've been wanting a PPK, but this purchase probably saved me about $400 and all I have to do is replace a couple springs. I'm going to try it out for myself first, though, as I've found a lot of complaints seem to come from people who just like to whine instead of from reality. Besides, I rarely use DA, so there's no need to really be concerned with it.
My one regret was buying ammo from J&G as I found a box of Wolf for $9.99/50 yesterday. That's the same price I pay for the Wolf steel 9mm, which my G19 seems to like quite a bit.

Good price. Thanks for the link. They have P64 mags in stock, so I ordered two. Those things are hard to find. :D

When I was a "kitchen table dealer", I ordered stuff from J&G. They always seemed reliable. I got the heavy barrel for my M10 from 'em for 50 bucks to replace the pencil barrel I cracked the forcing cone on. It was as advertised, new condition, and got here quick as I recall.

BTW, you want the wolff spring kit, trust me. :D It dramatically improves DA to the point it's actually useful. :D I'm a good DA shooter and LIKE the trigger on my Kel Tec P11, if that's any reference, but the stock DA as it comes on the P64 is good only for 7 yard shooting and I'd miss the paper half the time in DA doing that! Now, after installing the 19 lb trigger, I hit 6" plates at 25 yards in DA easily. Best transformation of a firearm I've ever witnessed just from a spring replacement.

The SA needs no improvement. Has a little creep in it, but not enough that you notice while firing. It breaks at estimate 3 lbs or less, really TOO light for my druthers, but it does make plinking fun. The thing is astoundingly accurate. You'll like it and you'll keep on saving over that Walther every time you buy ammunition. :D Bonus, you can actually find it, too.

Oh, yeah, for ammo, Academy regularly stocks Monarch for under 10 bucks a box and usually has it in stock. Try www.ammunitiontogo.com for ammo in bulk or Silver Bear hollow point for carry.

So $19.99 for a P64 magazine is a good price? I was going to wait until the next SAXET show to see what I could find there, but figured I'd get one extra on this order since the shipping charge was already there. Hopefully it comes in tomorrow so I can see what the extra $10 for hand picking got me.

A bit offtopic here ... but why is it called a mousegun?

Because the guns typically are very small for caliber compared to others. A Rohrbaugh 9MM is the size of a 380 or some .22s. Mouse guns are ideal for pocket carry scenarios where an IWB or OWB holster isn't an option

I don't recall the actual cost, but I love my Ruger LCP in .380. I later added a Crimson Trace laser to it. CT really got this laser perfect as it follows the lines of the pistol and doesn't affect the grip.

I also have a NAA .22 mag revolver. I only carry it around the house, to give me something to shoot or throw while I'm getting one of my guns spread around inside the house. But, I suggest the Ruger. Some other manufacturers have followed the success of the Ruger with their own .380s.
The Taurus should be in that price range, but the one review, that I've read wasn't very good.
