I couldn't find this question in the archives, so here goes:

If you could have only one handgun, one shotgun, and one rifle, what would they be?

Handgun - a Medusa because you can scavenge so many different cartridges for it

Shotgun - the Bennelli that I already have

Rifle - A good bolt gun, but I'm not sure exactly which one.

At least seperately I thing the archieves has had a number of "if you could only have one" type threads. But heck - none others today anyway ! :D

Handgun : .357 Magnum revolver - 4 inch barrel (S&W - Ruger - Taurus)

Shotgun : Pump 12 ga. with interchangable barrels ( Remington - Mossberg)

Rifle : Bolt action .308 Win with iron sights and 3X9 scope (Remington, Ruger, Winchester, Savage)

My humble choices

Luckily I have two out three of them already. I have an FN .40 HP, and a .35 Cal Marlin Lever Action Rifle. Both are very accurate and fine shooters. My choice of shot gun will be FN Auto Police Model (my retirement present to myself). It is not a very fancy or pretty choice of weapons, but very practicle and dependable. After 22 years in the Infantry (I retire in a few days), I know how to use them.

P.S. An M-1 Garand would be nice for reaching out.

Pistol - Good old 1911 in .45 acp

Shotgun - Mossberg 500 (then buy a rifled barrel for slugs)

Rifle - k31 with a scout scope mounted

Handgun: Either Medusa or my Smith 620.

Rifle: M1 or an AR--to "cheat" the "one rifle"--or maybe just a SIG 556

Shotgun: Benelli M4

Handgun......my XD-40 with 6 magazines.:D
Shotgun......my Mossberg 500
Rifle............my newly aquired Marlin 22 magnum with scope.:D

My reasoning behind the 22 mag is the fact that I could carry a boatload of ammo and it would not weigh much. A good head shot with a 22 mag would take care of a deer also. I think it would be a good survival rifle.

If I could only own one of each at a time, and had the chance to sell them and buy another (and they were given to me), I'd go with the following:

-Walther PPK from Dr. No.
-Some old, valuable Remington Model 12 with historical significance, I dont know...
-Carlos Hathcock's Model 70 .

Then, I'd sell them, pocket the money, and buy the following:

-Glock of some sort.
-Remington 870 Wingmaster (not really into shotguns. Are these reliable?).
-AK-47. stick a pipe bomb inside and it will still function.

I want reliability.

Since hunting is not an interest of mine:

Pistol: Beretta M9
Rifle: AR15 carbine
Shotgun: Remington 870

since I only have 1 of each...for a while now at least it is as follows.

handgun: 1911 .45 ACP govt.

shotgun: 870 18" 6+1 w/ SpecOps knoxx stock.

rifle: bushmaster A4 with an ACOG.

fits all the bills...reach out to 600 yards with the rifle, shotgun for homework and handgun for conceal...

edit: just bought the 870 today from Bass Pro. $320 + $30 rebate...not bad.

Only 1??? :scrutiny:
It would be tough, but I would go:
Handgun: USP 45
Shotty: Beretta 391
Rifle: RRA middy

Tough tho because I would go w/ a few options for the handgun

First off Duckster congrats on retirement and thanks for all your service to our country Thank You

A FN FAL 308.
A 12g Mossberg 500 with 3 barrels, 28in, 20in slug barrel and a 18in.
Either a XD45 tactical or a glock 20 10mm

I own all three of my choices:

Rifle: Tikka T3, 30-06, Leupold 2-7x33mm scope.

Shotgun: Remington 12ga 11-87 Sportsman, 28" bird barrel, 21" slug barrel with fiber optic sights.

Pistol: Ruger GP-100 with Meprolight night sights. (I dont currently have the Mepro's but they are in the mail.) Not as sure about this as the long-arms, but this is what I'm leaning towards for all around work.

Here is my list...

Pistol: Smith Combat Magnum in 357mag 4 inch

Shotgun: Mossberg 500

Rifle: Ruger 10/22

I'm waffling a bit here.

Handgun: Kahr K9 or SW642 (depending on circumstances;
concealed or open carry, social conditions at the time, etc).

Shotgun: 870P with multiple barrels (no waffling there)

Rifle: Marlin 336 in .30-30 or Marlin 39A in .22LR
(depending on the circumstances,
and what other guns were already present in my tribe).

I own the first 3, working now on the last two.
Life is good.
