I've used +P with no problem. Have not tried +P+ though.

If I'm not mistaken, we aren't supposed to allow Walther P-99s to eat plus p or plus p plus. I am definately sure that plus p plus is out of the question, but I'm not sure about the plus p. I'm pretty sure that it is in the manual, but I don't have my manual with me where I am, so I can't check.

You could call Earl's Repair Shop in Tewksbury, MA for a definate answer. They import them and are more knowledgeable about them than any other gun dealer I know of.

it seems odd that a pistol designed to digest NATO spec 9mm rounds should not be ok with +p, or even +p+, domestic loadings...all NATO ammo i've ever fired sure seemed at least equal to +p

There are a lot of guns that tell you not to use +P or +P+. This doesn't mean that it's unsafe, just that the company is trying to cover it's butt.
I have +P+ for SD use for my Taurus PT92. I have no fear about using it despite the fact that the manual says not to because the gun is way overbuilt. I also have a captive double spring guide rod installed. You figure that the only thing they did to the .40 version was put a bigger barrel on, i think +P+ should work just fine.
Just use good judgement. Use only in modern guns in good condition. Don't do soemthing stupid like shoot +P .45 out of your WWI 1911 or +P+ .38 out of your dads 50 year old snubbie.

sure, it's more wear on the gun, but 99% of the time you're shooting standard pressure ammo. The +P+ stuff is just for SD and occasional practice.
My primary SD gun is a .40 anyway.

I carry and shoot Speer Gold Dot 124gr and Federal 124gr EFMJ both +P and they work fine. Also have shot Hirtenberger 90gr +P+ as well as Remington 115gr +P+ with no ill effects.
You really can't AFFORD to shoot too much of that ammo unless you're a police officer and it's bought for you, so you shouldn't worry about it.
