My Marlin M45 is a very decent hunting carbine, my +P loads drive the Hornady 200 HP to about 1250 fps - which equals the rifle ballistics of the .44-40 WCF. The latter was proven to be a very good short range hunting cartridge, the slightly larger diameter bullet of the .45 Auto only makes it better. The 200 Hornady bullet holds up well at this velocity giving good penetration and expansion on deer and hogs. Too bad the Marlin was discontinued, warts and all..

45 acp plus p is more or less equal to a 10 mm std. load. It's a good 75 yard hunting cartridge with proper bullets.

Beretta did really well in the design of the CX4 series. I was intrigued from the first time I saw it in a gun rag. Then I handled one, wow, just wow, I thought. Then I fired some rounds through one at the range. I was hooked. I bought one that week or next. It quickly became my carbine of choice for range time.
They are a little too "spacey" for my taste, but I do like the magazine in the pistol grip design. I've shot a friend's Beretta and liked it; just can't get over the look of the thing.

I have the Berretta in 9mm with a Bushnell TRS 25 red dot on it, a CMMG T with a Sig Romeo on it, on hold with a buddy and a Glock 17 in a Micro Roni Stab with a TRS 25 red Dot on it, all really nice and very accurate at close quarters. I have shot the sig MPX , CZ, Zienith, and a B&T ( my friend has or had them all at one time). All very nice and extremely fun to shoot.

Chicharrones, I put a riser on my Bushnell to bring it up. It was to low to get a view on it. Sorry no pics. I also got more mags including the 32 round Beretta mags. The Storm has been nothing but reliable, fun, and accurate. Enjoy it! My buddy has a forward grip on his that works well.

I have a 1/2" riser that reportedly got delivered to my work office that I need to pick up. It should help immensely, like you mention. I have a pair of 20 round Beretta mags on their way as well.

I sure like the size and weight of the CX4. I'm just itchin' to go shoot it, but I think my range plans for next week just bit the dust due to unforseen events. Maybe in March? :(

Scheels called me Friday night before they closed to tell me they had the Ruger PC carbine in stock.. I told Jim to hold two for me. Went in Saturday . After looking at the rifle a few minutes I said "I`ll take two" . Haven't even cleaned them yet. Perhaps next week and then to the range.

A pair! Congrats!

Here’s my entry into the dark side of semiauto pistol carbine world...

TNW Aero Survival Rifle (ASR) with 16-1/2” barrel in 10 mm Auto. The flip sights are Magpuls. I added the forward handle, but easy to remove with Swiss Army Knife to save weight. I debated installing the scope, but decided to take the smaller scope off my AR (1”) and swap with this (30 mm) instead. This carbine uses Glock 10 mm magazines. I wanted something with a lot of power. I’m used to .357 and .44 Magnum lever carbines and 9 mm ain’t getting it for me.

It breaks down into two sections and will fit inside a daypack. Great for woods carry when paired with 10 mm pistol.

Great set up.

Crowman... Is the TNW caliber convertible? I have a Just Right Carbine. They ARE caliber convertible. The JRC has a removable mag well and that's how it accepts different mags. Looking at your pics, it looks like the mag well on the TNW is integral with the trigger guard. The JRC also uses AR trigger components, and I upgraded the trigger with ease. I cant tell if the TNW uses an AR trigger...? JRC now has a 10mm carbine, and I have been thinking about one, but would only consider the TNW if it has the features the JRC has.
