Actually, it kind of IS a monarchy. The Queen and Prince Phillip have no problems gunning for upland birds and game in Scotland. And she gets to carry a great big Sword of State on formal occasions, without a permit.That's so sad, I just want to give you an e-hug.
It amazes me that support for an armed citizenry is so scarce that politicians get away with that stuff, leaving little chance for change. It's not a monarchy, but it might as well be.
