I need to retire my old Decot Hy-Wyds and get a pair of prescription shooting glasses. They will mainly be used for my clay target sickness, but also for rifle, pistol, archery and hunting.
I am considering the $25 2X bifocal shooting glasses from Radians, however, I will likely wear them enough to spend the $$ for a good pair.
Any suggestions??

Personally, I would go look for a pair of Oakley's. Lots of frame choices, and lots of lens options as well. It would also give you the option of buying additional lenses so they could be used for multiple uses (indoor, outdoor, driving etc)

They are expensive. My current prescription glasses are Oakley's (clear lenses), and they work great for me, especially at the range.

Eyeglasses

I don't know if this will help; but-- I wear prescription bifocals. I go to the optomotrist; pay for the prescription, then order my glasses from Zunni Optical who has facilities in Cal., Or., and (of course) China. I don't know if you can get a 'script for special shooting glasses or not. If you know what you want as far as the power, single, bifocal, progressive lenses needed, you don't need a 'script. Online, you can order your frames, lenses, etc. by filling in the specs on the order form. I bought 4 pair of bifocal glasses for less than the price of 1 pair at any other place I could find. I have 2 'cheap' frame pairs, 1 black and 1 gold. I slightly heavier framed pair and 1 pair of 'frameless'. I paid about $135 for 4 pair of glasses, delivered to my mail box. I got them about 12 days after I ordered them. Frames from $6.95 to around $50. Biocal lenses start at $17. per pair. Shipping is $4.50. I had tint, anit-glare, etc. also included in the price. I AM NOT AFFILIATED with these people in anyway. The glasses needed to be adjusted to fit right; but I have never had a pair that I didn't have to 'tinker' with myself after the optical place did all they could do to get the right fit. If this helps, GOOD; if not, oh well I kept my mind occupied for a few minutes. LOL Red

Thanks for the replies.
I wear prescription bifocals every day. I can no longer read a program or keep score without my bifocals. I like the way I can see through the upper part of the Decots with my head on the stock. The Hy-Wyds may get the nod despite the fact my wife thinks they look absurd. lol
I will check out the Oakleys and Zunni Optical ....thanks.

>>Just a quick correction: Zenni Optical<<

Looked up their website and was amazed at the prices. So, I went and ordered another set of shooting glasses just to see how they do. Nice intereactive website! Thanks for the tip! :)

.....prescription shooting glasses. They will mainly be used for my clay target sickness.....

Randolph Rangers I would get the XLW's as you only need to purchase an insert for your scrip and not get multiple lens. I have a set that I use for everything...Skeet, Trap, Sporting clays, Bulleye and everything in between. Can be pricey, but shop around.
