Ruger Security 380 lite rack

Ruger only seems interested in grabbing market share, so I've all but given up on them ever making anything in .32 for an autoloading pistol.

I don't get the doublestack .380 thing, I mean, I get lower recoil, but if that's the desire there are 9mm loads out there that shoot a 100gr projectile and have the same recoil as .380.

A lot of people won't think it thru that far, but that's exactly what we did for my dad when he started having trouble with the recoil with his LC9 shooting 147gr. I got him a couple boxes of the Hornady 100gr Critical Defense, problem solved.

The Ruger 380 Security also allows people with certain problems such as arthritis, carpal tunnel or neuropathy the ability to rack the slide.
Being it is lighter recoiling and hammer fired the RSA can be much weaker .. also with the griping points…on the slide … My grip is diminishing due to a cervical injury and cervical fusion… I can certainly tell a difference.. in the past few years ..

The 380ACP is a huge step up from a 22 LR and much more reliable …

A locked breech .380 that weighs just under 20oz unloaded. I'll bet the recoil on that thing feels almost like a .22. If they come out with a no-safety model, I'll buy it.

Possibly the ugliest poly striker I’ve seen yet. Capacity notwithstanding, I don’t see anything that would make this preferable to the EZ. But I am, admittedly, an EZ fanboy.

Wait, what? This isn't a blowback with a fixed barrel? That... this changes things.

Now if only Ruger would stop being so mean to me they could make a .32 version and I'd be a happy boy this Christmas.

Much shorter grip height and doesn't have that upside-down grip safety. I honestly don't understand why they did the grip safety like that.

I have a friend of mine , that purchased his wife a EZ 380 … went back to the LGS and purchased one for himself.. that he eventually gave it to his adult son and he again purchased another one :)
And Im thinking he is gonna purchase a Equalizer..
Needless to say he is a fan of the EZ format

I wonder if S&W is gonna roll out with a Equalizer in 380 ACP ?

It most likely will come out in 30 Super Carry
( I want a KT P32 )

I must agree. If I'm wanting a .380, it's gonna be an original LCP or smaller- not something that could pass as a small belt gun.

Ruger really snuck this one out
Usually .. firearms are sent to certain You Tube reviewers in advance…and they release their reviews as soon as the pistol is officially announced…..

The EZ safety makes the activation more assured than the 1911 style (as seen on XD these days - people still gripe about that one). Personally I'd be satisfied with either of them. I have to note that the original FN 1910 safety did not end at the web. Seems preferable to me. Now that is the one you cannot miss.

Note that you must change your grip when re-holstering in order to take an advantage of the grip safety. In this, it requires the same training as Glock SCD. And, this action is slightly easier with XD safety than with EZ safety.

Old thread…. But … 13 months after posting this I ordered a Ruger Security 380acp , KYGUNCO Black Friday deal $224 shipped… couldn’t pass it up .. It has been on my short list since its release..

I saw that, it's the best Black Friday deal for a gun I've seen in a long time

...I prefer a double action, hammer fired pistol, or better yet, a DA/SA hammer fired pistol...
You do realize these are the same thing?

DA is the same thing as DA/SA.

The only difference is what the terms refer to - "DA" describes the trigger mechanism, and "DA/SA" describes mode of operation.

Unless it is a DAO. I agree with the above statement yet to younger shooters that have mainly striker fired experience I also catch myself clarifying when 50 years ago there was no need.

I picked up the Ruger security 380 lite rack in June of this year and I got to say I'm really liking this pistol a lot . Not a single failure of any kind yet and every thing as promised .
