Run away...with a watermelon in your pants?

strat81, that's an interesting thread. Most are in favor of resp0onsible firearms ownership. One poster got hoodwinked by a news report somewhere, though:

I was watching a documentary last week about this and they said that at 90% of gun shows they dont do background checks. That's scary.
Yes, it's scary if one hasn't learned that it's completely false.

Someone noticed the idea that the watermelon represents a person's expected weight gain and diminished agility, though. :)

These posters are obviously directed at the anti's, but do enough anti's actually see them?
I once posted one of Oleg's pics on another forum, I think I used the wheelchair one, and someone stated that I was obviously a gun nut simply because I knew where to find a picture like that.

It is quite interesting...

Hell to the yes, I am pro gun.....and I love shooting them. My dh and I have some. He knows that I know how to shoot them, and I am totally comfortable aiming at someones head if they threaten me in my house.

Oh, and we keep ours in a safe that is finger print coded, so only my dh and I can open the safe. Its like mission impossible or something.......:)

Every girl should know how to shoot!!
Excellent enthusiasm, but her tactics and storage methods need some work.

I usually print off a dozen of Oleg's pics and leave them around campus. A few have wandered onto the main bill boards for the school to view. I always get Olegs okay first though. The women needing to learn self reliance ones seem to get the best responses.

I think the pic is great. When my wife was pregnant the first time I got her a shirt that had a large pic of a watermellon covering the belly that read "I'm not pregnant, I'm a watermellon thief" At first she cried at the insult, then started laughing and loved it.

3KB -- Technically, Oleg rounded up a little bit. I was 34 weeks, 2 days when that photo was taken last week. Also, I was measuring 2cm smaller than average (fundal height) at my last checkup. Some of the weight I've gained (about 35 lbs as of that picture) has gone to the face and shoulders (and breasts, of course) instead of the belly. It's my first, too, so I'm not as big as I'd be if it were #4.

The image of me holding a watermelon while PG definitely cracks me up. "Looks like she swallowed a watermelon"..."are you pregnant or a watermelon smuggler?"...etc. Those round ones are just about the same size and weight as my belly now. Before the visit to Oleg's, I had grabbed a watermelon during my baby shower and made my dad take a few pictures of me holding it.

I was tempted to get this t-shirt: http://t-shirts.cafepress.com/item/watermelon-maternity-dark-tshirt/133540840
but I think Oleg's going to Photoshop the watermelon onto my belly in another picture of me soon, in a matching green dress. :D

What's annoying is that thenest.com requires a 3-day waiting period after you register before you can post a comment, so they are talking about this picture of me over there and I can't respond yet!

Maybe they instituted a special 3-day waiting period for you because some posters were writing mean things about the dress worn by a lady with a gun and a watermelon...

Glad that you're in this thread. ;)

I hope all is going smoothly for you. Cherish every moment -- there's no experience that could possibly match up.

I always carried way out front so people would start giving me that "Is she going into labor NOW?" look at about 7 months.

That shirt is great. I'd have loved to have had one. Not only was DH making watermelon jokes but during my first pregnancy I had cravings for watermelon. :D
